Goblins can roll shaman but shaman is not about the nature as it would be the case for a druid, shamanism is about asking or harnessing the elements, Goblins might have discovered a way to draw the elements from the ground while digging for minerals and petrol. Goblins lived on a freaking volcano isle so they were surrounded by the elements more than any other race.
Not to mention Thrall, the greatest shaman of all is the one who invited goblins into the Horde, so it could be linked.

Gnomes are more focused on inventing gadgets than digging for ressources, they're not really confronted to the elements. Goblin technology is made to explode, and a shaman is an "explosive" class.

There's plenty of reasons why Shaman fits with the goblins but not with the gnomes.

Gnomes can be priest that's true, but I actually think they shouldn't be able to roll priest, something shitty being in the game is not a reason to add even more shitty things into it.
And paladins seems to be better involved into light's cause (Spell's names) than priests that just seem to use light's power without any belief behind it.
Gnomes carved a giant city deep inside a mountain, built the Deeprun Tram under the land and a body of water, plus they would need to dig for metal, coal, oil, etc to build and fuel their machines, so they would be confronting the elements often. Before The Lost Isles, the goblins didn't know Thrall but could still be shamans, so I don't think there's any relation. But really, the chances of Blizzard letting gnomes be shamans is next to nothing.

Honestly, as much I think gnomes should have paladins, I don't have high expectations of that ever happening either. If you want to bend the lore a bit like with Blood Elves and Tauren, it could be explained that some gnomes decided to learn more about The Light and it's purifying ways in an attempt to cleanse Gnomeregan of it's poisons and corruption, as well as become hardy defenders and healers to protect their people from the troggs.

Like I said though, as much as I think gnomes should have shamans and paladins, I don't ever expect it to happen since gnomes barely get any development and are constantly left out of the overall story, despite the fact that they are actually important members of the Alliance being the ones that build weapons and war vehicles.

They carved, but they never really tried to get ressources from it, they just got it out so they could build their city in it, while the goblins tried to get as much as possible from the ground's ressources to get money, they "bullied" the elements all the way, synthetized it, they're known for their alchemy (and primordial elements in game are alchemy components, they also are transmutable), Gnomeregan is so "mechanic" that if the gnomes encountered the elements they might just had rejected them. Gnomes needed to get their ressources somewhere but there's nothing that hints on how they got it. Just carving the grounds is for sure not enough to master the elements, it's not only about what you do but also about the way you do it.

Goblins found interest in the element, they found out that it could be a way to get richer, that elements could be used as a tool, and adopted shamnism.

I can't see gnomes fitting with shamanism in any way.

Boring argument. Gnomes are the nearly the same size as both dwarves and goblins, true. But they are waaaaaaay more delicious.

You never tried gnomes kabob if you can't understand how fast pets will eat their owners.

the class that educates them how to die in a more comical way.

  11. #71
Druid because the forms would be amazing, I can imagine the cat form being a super cute kitten and so on.

Druid. The morphed forms would be animal-like robots.

They somewhat make sense as Paladins aswell, can easily see a few gnomes taking the path of light following their primary allies: Humans and Dwarves.

The class that fits Gnomes best, is actually 2 classes (imo): Rogue & Mage, followed closely by Warlock.
    The rest are weaker.
Not really much to add, this is spot on. I would really love gnome hunter, maybe one day...

    None of the above.

    They're a technology-based race. They should have a technology-based class.

    Just like Goblins.

The topic was about gnomes and REAL classes which already exist. Not poor knock-offs made by fans. Nice shameless plug though.

For real though, Hunter. It's bizarre that they are the race that makes the best guns but can't actually use them
Warrior used to be able to use guns.

OnT: I don't want gnomes to get any more races, but that's because I hate gnomes. I hate them!

Main reason is because I used to play Horde during the era where EVERY damn rogue was a fucking disgusting rogue. Untargetable piece of craps, that's what they are.

The god class (druid) plus the master race (gnome). Get it done.

  18. #78
What makes the most sense is Hunter. I voted for Druid though, because I want to see tiny bears and cats running around damnit!

Hunter seems like the most logical one to me, so that's my choice.

However, I've always wanted to see either gnome or goblin druids that transform into mechanical animals...kind of like "Transformers: Druid Style".
