A man risks his life to save his Xbox

According to ABC15, the keen gamer from Kansas ran outside when his house caught fire. But upon remembering that his Xbox was inside, he ran back to get it, risking his life on the way.

The man suffered smoke inhalation, his only injury. His house, however, suffered £48,400 worth of damage. But the XBox was fine

...I've got a feeling he did this, and made a public story about it, in hopes that M$ will make him some new Jerrod spokesman for the Xbox One.

I would actually do something similar, if there is an opportunity to re enter the building i would rescue my PC

sounds kinda like a dumb reason to run back in. If it were family or animals, i would run back in because I could not live with my self if they died and there was even a chance of me being able to do something (which you wont know unless you went back in) - But I would not run back in for something that can easily be replaced.

I doubt it but just maybe it had a lot of his personal pictures on it. I know I would run back in to save my hard drive because it has a ton of pictures of my son when he was first born that I don't have real copies of. I'm not saying his xbox did have pictures just pointing out maybe something of personal value was stored on that xbox.

I shudder at the fought that something similar happens and all my HDDs in my PC will be lost with all the data on them. Definitely a thing to save.
All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side

i did something in the same vein a while back.

I was leaving alone in a new town, i called the emergency for severe stomach pain. when the ambulance came get me, i grabbed my laptop on my way out (still writhing in pain mind you).

I was admited in ER and had surgery within the day, and stay at the hospital a week. At least i had my laptop to watch movie and play game, hospital can be so boring.

same argument you made applies to this.

you will risk your life for pretty senseless reasons anyways.

many people risk their lifes almost every day by running over a busy street just to get a bus earlier.
when you have a goal for yourself, logical thinking does not necessarily apply. thats all there is to it^^

I would not leave the house without my family, pets and PC. I cannot imagine the horror of losing all the data I have stored, including pictures dating all the way back to when I was a child which have no copies.

given those answers so far, i wonder is there is a business opportunity for online digital files bank. A service that would store all your file and secure it like a bank would secure your money.

He should get a sponsor and pick up professional gaming, clearly he's dedicate enough to go far.
But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.

There is such a thing. Cloud based backups have been a thing for years.

Grab an Xbox while the house is on fire, is the sort of professional gaming I would watch!

I definitely wouldn't run back in for my Xbox! What the hell? I can replace everything there for a few hundred pounds, and there's nothing on it that I can't get back.

PC is a different story, but I still wouldn't risk my life for it. We should really be backing up all our important stuff anyway. Err, like I eh, intend to do soon...

Probably original Xbox, with a nearly complete GunValkery save... It's the reason the house is on fire! (A topical gaming joke from more than 10 years ago)

I'm sitting here wondering if the guy was white or asian. Black people use Playstations
