Start with a 3DS, buddy. From there you can work back to A gameboy advanced (or original DS) if you want to play original gen 2/original/remake gen 1. Originally Posted by YellowCake

Expect for Kanto, you can experience all the main game's story with 3DS, now that ORAS have been released.
For Kanto, you need either R/B/Y on GB or FR/LG on GBA. Though even the newer remakes (FRLG) are now over 10 years old so I wouldn't judge you if you decided to emulate them.

Removing Grayfrost from the challenger list for inactivity. Raigara is a close friend of mine and recently started a new education he does want to take the challenge at some point but for now is busy with school
