Venezuelan Gvt using violence against protestors

The following link is in Spanish and is also NSFW due to violence, blood and gore as a result towards attacks on student protestors by the Venezuelan army. May be NSFL for the squeamish.

Why do you all think about this?

Too bad Hugo Chavez died ... Venezuela didn't seem half bad when he was running the place.

Are these dot wounds result of rubber bullets? Didn't know they hit that hard. And the amount of wounds on some people is just overkill.

Rubber bullets pack a punch, as do beanbag rounds. They can break ribs and the like pretty easily.

Still a much better alternative to real bullets if your not looking to fill pine boxes though.

The problem is that in the heat of the moment riot police can forget that you're supposed to fire rubber bullets at the ground in front of rioters so they bounce back up and hit shins and knees with a little less force.

Being hit by a rubber bullet straight on is similar to being shot with a extra large slug.

Yes things where this bad under Chavez. They where even worse during the previous so called 'democratic elections.' The guy currently in power was Chavez second in command and is trying to emulate him as much as possible.

Since Chavez took over there has been a mass exodus of Venezuelans equivalent almost to that of the Cubans after the 1959 revolution. If you go to Miami it's like the second largest population of Latinos now. The majority of the Venezuelan people despise Chavez and all who follow him. Chavez was a moron and a dictator Maduro is just following in his shadow.

Well, as supertony already said, rubber bullets was used in wrong way.
"The intended use is to fire at the ground so that the round bounces up and hits the target on the legs causing pain but not injury."
Can't blame government for police force didn't used their tools in right way. But can blame government for not giving orders to instruct police to use their tools properly

It's pretty easy to fall into the whole demonization of Chavez. I already know most people will not care for what I have to say, because it is not easy to understand why he is hated in your country.

Is Chavez a dictator? Yes, but he is a curious dictator - as Eduardo Galeano putted. How can you say most Venezuelan peope hate Chavez when he has won 8 elections in 5 years? How can you purely and just so simply dismiss it as "entirely horrific" when he got more doctors into the country and has alphabetized over 2 million kids?

Do you really think the midia would do so much furor for a guy ruining some third word country? The western world was mad because he refused to sell oil as cheap as it once was and for that matter big corporations waged war against him. He was excentric and strange, but learn the facts before you say he has done nothing good for his country.

I could win 8 elections in five years too, if I was a dictator that didn't allow any reasonable opposition to run against me.

You can't possibly be this ignorant.

I'm an actual venezuelan and I'm gonna tell you how its actually over here.

How can you say most Venezuelan peope hate Chavez when he has won 8 elections in 5 years?
Because those elections are a sham, those votes are obtained through coercion, bullying, and terrorizing. If you work for any branch of the government and you don't vote for what the PSUV (Partido Socialista Unido de Venezuela, or Venezuela's United Socialist Party) tells you to vote, you are FIRED, with no pension, no benefits, no liquidation, NADA, boot up the ass, and replaced with whatever yesman they can get. Now add to that the fact that the government has nationalized almost every major industry on the country and this leaves over 60% of the voters right in the thumb of the PSUV, people who have no other option but to do as they're told, or they're out in the streets, in an economy so depressing, 1 kilo of powdered milk can cost up to SIXTY DOLLARS (I am not making that shit up)

How can you purely and just so simply dismiss it as "entirely horrific" when he got more doctors into the country
CUBAN doctors, which means venezuelan doctors are fucked out of a job, as every major hospital is staffed by nothing but cuban doctors. In a funny twist of irony, those same doctors are so poorly paid, and so brutally overworked, most are leaving the same country they so eagerly were willing to step inside in the first place.

over 3 thousand of those cuban doctors deserted the country due to being paid with a paltry sum of money that isn't enough to even buy a pack of doritos let alone a decent meal.

and has alphabetized over 2 million kids?
For whatever good that does to them when the desertion rate in colleges has never been higher. The education system has degraded so much, kids are graduating FROM FUCKING HIGHSCHOOL without even knowing how to add and substract on their own, let alone anything more advanced than what you'd see in third grade.

How about some basic research before spouting ignorance? Yes he did SOME good to the country, and then proceeded to ruin everything, breaking our economy, making our democracy a fucking circus, increasing the corruption and the poverty, and making us the laughing stock of latin america with his antics which his successor has inherited fully, considering he's said among other things that Chavez reincarnated as a little bird that lives in his house, and that the new pope is latin american because chavez demaded it from god. (not kidding about those either)

If you're a capitalist, yes. From my research, it was a pretty good place for proletariats (not using it politically, it just means anyone who doesn't benefit off of the work of others).

Elaborate how Venezuela was bad. Many people have told me that it was, but no one will back up their claim.

"Proletariat"? What are you? 15? Do you pay taxes? Do you pay bills? Do you have responsibilities? Do you work?

There is nothing more silly and useless in the world than an internet marxist / communist / militant socialists (democratic socialism is of course, fine). It's fucking dumb. You're on a private corporations' website about a video game made by another corporation, on the modern internet... designed, built and managed by capitalist corporations.

And yes, of course I'm capitalist. I'm with the economic system that has allowed for the fastest rise in standard of living for most people in human history. The occasional clusterfuck it gets the world into and it's inherent inequities is nothing compared to the record of failure of all the alternatives.

Thank you for making me face palm.

If we're throwing insults around, let me start off with saying that even though what you said was mentally retarded, I shall respond to your comments.

Proletariat is a real word with real means as I described before. Just because you're a fascist does not mean that it is not a real word.

I am not a Marxist nor a Communist. I consider myself a Social-Communionist, since Communist was later tainted by Stalin, Mao and their cronies.

I don't care about private corperations, as long as they treat their workers with respects, don't hurt the environment and pay their due. I am a communionist because I believe that most corporations and aristocrats fail to contribute to society enough.

Who told you that capitalism raises standards of living? Fox News? Is it capitalism that did this or was it the simple evolution of civilization that has been on a positive track since the Age of Enlightenment?

There is a reason why anectdotal evidence is considered inferior.
