    Water water water!
Ditch drinking juice/pop what ever it is , just water ( maybe protein shakes aswell if you are )
Eat clean and healthy , no big carbs past 6 ( ie big fried chips ect )
dont have to eat too hard core diet ie no carbs just chicken breast and brocoli , just eat smart , no mcdonalds ect things that are obvious that arent too good for you.
Reduce your portion size , start cutting down the amount of food you put on your plate , and after a while it will be good as you will be full/stuffed after a healthy portion

Go on runs , you dont need a gym for that !
If you have no weights around just do press ups/squats ect when ever you can.

Also not too sure but maybe have green tea

Can't even imagine how you can have fat on your body unless you're severely out of shape. I'm 186cm, 85kilo and I hardly have any excess fat. If I removed 15 kg there wouldn't be anything left of me, lol. xD

Best advise I can give for anyone who wants to lose weight with "minimal effort" would be the following:

WALK! 1 hour a day if you can. It's easy, you can listen to music and "zone out" and most importantly, it wont burn you out. Sure you can run or pay for a gym membership and by all means, if you have the motivation then go for it. Most people however, throw themselves head first into a low calorie high intensity exercise routine then give up in a month. Walking 5-7 days a week for a year will do you far more good than running for a month and giving up. For the record, I use a Treadmill because of the incline function. I do 1 hour 5-7 times per week at 15% Incline and 3.5-4mph... burns around 800 calories for someone my size and I do it while watching TV eps.

Cut out the Sugar... you simply don't need it. This includes "Diet" Soda's, fruit juice/drink etc. Just drink water and (if you want) Tea/Coffee. Just don't add sugar.

Log everything. I use Myfitnesspal. Even if you guestimate servings, it can atleast give you an indication of how much you're (over)eating. Energy in vs Energy out.

Since I started January 1st I gave up diet soda, pasta and bread. I've eaten healthy and stayed around 1200 calories a day and walk 2 miles on the treadmill and swim about a half mile in laps in the pool. My exercise is all first thing in the morning and I have still seen amazing results. Consistency is the key

    Tips:

Figure out what the optimal caloric intake for your age is.
    Adjust your diet accordingly.
    Adjust your exercises accordingly.
Use tools like: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm : to figure our your optimal numbers.

If you intake less calories, than what you burn, you lose weight. its simple.

Keep track of what you're eating all the time - it really helps.
Write it down - keep a diary. It works.!! I cant emphasize it enough - it works!
    It's just a game.

Try aerobics or running so you get warm then do some ab work and things. Also for the sides out your hands in the air and lean from the left to the right everyday for a least 3 to 4 minutes. Here are a few things you can do to lose weight effectively.
ose weight easily by not depriving your self and eating healthy. This will keep your metabolism boosted, stop cravings and you'll be able to keep up with it long term. I've listed my healthy eating diet tips below

Always eat breakfast and always include protein for your breakfast. Protein builds muscle, improves your feeling of fullness and will help to keep you satisfied until your next meal.

Choose lean sources of protein, such as chicken, fish, dry beans or lentils. You may even use some protein powder to get more protein with less sugar and calories. I put chocolate whey protein powder in my oatmeal for breakfast, and I don't need any sugar. If you want to use protein powder, do some research to make sure it does not have unhealthy ingredients.

Increase your daily consumption of vegetables. You can't have enough vegetables! Raw, steamed, in soups, whatever you can do to get more vegetables in your diet is a good thing. Vegetables are very important to losing weight around your stomach.

Limit how much fruit you eat. Many times when people are dieting they reach for fruit to satisfy hunger between meals. While fruit is good for you, it does contain a lot of sugar and if you want to lose weight you are better off limiting your fruit to 2 - 3 pieces a day.

Eat 4 - 6 small meals a day rather than 3 big ones, if possible. The intent is to stabilize your blood sugar level throughout the day. This will help you to lose weight. If you do try this, be sure you do not overeat, because it is easy to eat too many calories at each meal. Decide how much you want to eat for the whole day, then divide it up into individual meals.

Include protein, complex carbohydrates and good fats at every meal. Try not to eat meals that consist of only one or two of these. An example would be soup for lunch that has no protein.

Eliminate "bad" fats but be sure to eat "good" fats. Bad fats are butter, margarine, corn oil, canola oil, trans fats, and saturated fats. Good fats are olive oil, the omega 3 fats in some fish like salmon, avocados and nuts, especially walnuts. Even though a fat is "good" be conscious of how much you eat. Don't overdo it!

Avoid all processed foods. These not only add a lot of calories, they are very high in sodium and unhealthy ingredients. High sodium intake can cause many health problems, but it can also cause you to retain water, which will make you bloated and feel fat. This is not what you want! Eating healthy is the best way if you're wondering how to lose stomach fat fast.

Drink plenty of fresh, pure water. At least 64 ounces a day. Every day! This will help keep your cells nourished and it's important to eliminating toxins that are stored in your body that keep you fat. Also, don't drink your calories. Soda, sweet tea, sports drinks, etc all contain sugar. Avoid artificial sweeteners also. They have been shown to make you gain weight.

Besides changing your diet, the best way to lose weight is to increase your level of physical activity. If you do not get a lot of exercise right now, start just by walking. Walk at least 30 minutes a day, and as you get more fit, you can add other more strenuous forms of exercise. For the best health, it is advised to get both cardio and strength building exercise. Weight bearing (strength building) exercise is also important to prevent osteoporosis.

I tried to give you a long list of options so you find something that works well for you. It is not essential to do ever one of these things, but the more you do, the healthier you will be and the better your chance of reaching your weight loss goal. The most important thing is to pick changes you can live with in the long run. Just control when and how much you eat. For long term success, make small changes, one at a time. Then once you are used to it, make another.

So instead of giving up or starving yourself, take control of your diet, your health, your body and your life by making healthier diet, exercise and lifestyle choices.

This is a necro'd thread, but the topic is good.

I had to make lifestyle changes to lose weight. I moved closer to work and ride my bike (5.5mi one way) on nice days. I have an insufficient thirst drive (which I hear is pretty common), so I keep a half-gallon pitcher next to my desk, fill it in the morning, and finish it before I leave work to make sure I'm getting enough water. The downside to that is that I'm peeing every 10 minutes.

I reduced my meat intake by 30%. Doing that forced me to find plant-based alternatives, which in turn helped me increase my total vegetable intake.

I've tried every fad diet in the book I think, but the method I found works best is eat better stuff, get outside and do stuff, and drink lots of water. Don't fall into the trap of eating less. If you leave yourself hungry, you'll end up grabbing the bag of chips or box of cookies or whatever. By eating better stuff, you stay full longer and tend to have more energy overall.

I've been reading more studies which show a connection between sleeping well and managing weight. I stopped sleeping well during my time in the Navy, since I was constantly on rotating watches with drills and nighttime helo ops mixed in. I've been out for a while now, but I still struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep for longer than a couple hours at a time unless I'm really sick or really drunk. Neither one of those situations is ideal.

If you're a beginner , there are few things you should know:
Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the daily calorie count calculator, you can easily find online. This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both. So If you're wondering how to lose belly fat in a week or two, I would suggest you to be consistent and regular. Eat healthy foods, avoid junk foods, exercise regularly. Both cardio and weight training is necessary in this matter. Hope it will help.

This is factually incorrect and based on opinion rather than biochemistry. If you are looking to lose weight, this is not good advice. It may be average advice at best and even then, it's only really good advice for someone that is looking for a balanced lifestyle. If you are seriously over weight, this will not work for you.

Learn to ignore the calorie in calorie out rhetoric that has been proven to be false time and time again through studies where calories were kept the same for a group of people with their macro nutrients altered. The ones that ate high carb diets, like pretty much every fitness calculator on the web, lost less weight than those on a high fat low carb diet. There is clear cause and effect demonstrated in these kind of isolated studies.

If you want advice, a push and some motivation to lose weight. Head on over to /r/keto. Friday is coming up and it's great to check out people progress pics. Some people are losing 3lbs+ a week living this lifestyle. Not only is it great for weight loss, there are a plethora of other health benefits that go with it.

Look into it, you won't be disappointed.

Calories in/calories out isn't the secret to weight-loss, yes it is much more complex than that. However it often does serve as a tool for people who consume far too many calories to control themselves within reason. Suggesting someone who struggles with something as simple as portion control and cutting sugar, go to the extreme of following a keto diet (something not easy for many fit people) is setting them up for failure.

    Well, I haven't read too much of what everyone else is writing, but basically, I found this to work;

Eat every 3rd hour. This keeps your body burning fat constantly. Preferably healthy, but if you can't - then anything goes really. As long you get -something- into your stomache to keep the fatburn going.
Keep a variated diet. Nuts, berries and fruit is king to replace snacks.

As for working out, find something that's fun. Something that really gets your blood and heart pumping(No, watching porn doesn't count~). But jogging is a way to start, but don't overdo it. Cycling is even better as it doesn't put too much weight on your poor legs. Then do some lifting. Start very small - almost too small and then move like a lb up every workout session. When you reach the point where you can't lift anymore(because you added so much over the time), halfen the amount and continue on. You'll see progress on how much you can lift etc as you surpass the previous point you couldn't lift anymore and halfen the weight

So basically; eat healthy and build muscles. your body needs food regularly to keep its natural fatburn going, and building muscles will also help you burn fat faster. Expect to gain some weight in the beginning though, as you will build muscles before losing fat(and we all know muscles weigh more than fat), so going some lbs up is fine. But then, you'll see you start losing.

Last important words: Use a measurement band and measure your body instead of using a scale to check your weight. Cause you build muscles, you won't know for sure if you've lost fat and gained muscles, or what's going on. Measuring will tell you properly as muscles takes up less space than fat.

Good luck! I am currently doing it and it's fun and healthy!

Everyone wonders where does that Fat go when you start loosing it.
And most people think fat is lost when you go to the Toilet.

Alas, most fat is not lost buy taking laxatives.

The way to loose fat is by "Burning it"
Fat is lost thru a chemical reaction in the body and the majority of fat is expelled out in the Breath.

So when you are Huffing & Puffing.. that is when you are loosing some fat.

To start to loose weight for those who are on the plus side.

Exercise by finding a decent hill in your neighbourhood and walk up it
Everyday walk up the hill, but get faster in your stride.

Finally when you are starting to feel stronger.. Jog up the same hill.

    Good Luck

    Wow what a necro.

@Aussiedude I actually thought you pee fat out. Seems weird for it to come out of your breath.

For myself, I lost around 100 lbs in my past and kept it off for the most part. Diets honestly do not work IMO, they really are just a temporary solution and a life style change is really necessary. For myself what worked was portion control, taking long walks, and cutting out crap eating like fast food or junk food. Also cutting out soda (especially diet!) or any other high sugar/calorie drinks.

There we go..Heavy Breathing they reckon

By tracing every atom's pathway out of the body, the team of scientists at the University of New South Wales in Australia discovered that when 10kg of fat is oxidised, 8.4kg departs the body via the lungs as carbon dioxide (CO2).

The remaining 1.6kg becomes water (H2O).

The analysis shows the inhaled oxygen required for this metabolic process weighs nearly three times more than the fat being 'lost'.

To completely oxidise 10kg of human fat, 29kg of oxygen must be inhaled, producing a total of 28kg of carbon dioxide and 11kg of water.

The authors, Ruben Meerman and Andrew Brown, said: 'None of this biochemistry is new, but for unknown reasons it seems nobody has thought of performing these calculations before.

80% of fat leaves the body via the lungs, say experts (so the more you exercise the better)
