I remember back in the days where you could enter a dungeon and fight the mobs inside instead of the other players. The rotten community today makes me play wow in singleplayer mode. And not much to do there alone. They need to add way more solo content

As much as I love exploring, I also miss auto-unlock flight paths :P Some zones I really just hate running to... like desolace. Ugh.

Though I do miss running to the dungeon entrances, fighting off those damn pink mana worms back in wrath was always fun while we were summoning our group :P... I actually don't even know where the cataclysm dungeon entrances are at (except brc).

I also miss the old talent trees.

The game hasn't been nearly as good since.

Old Azeroth, old talents, weapon skills... Yea, I'm missing WotLK the most, I guess.
    Sorry for my bad english.

I miss being a noob. Those first few years when you didn't know everything yet and you hadn't been inside every dungeon and raid.
Those were the days when the game was interesting and fun. I don't think I'll ever experience that again in any MMO to be honest.

Therefore, that time will always have a special place in my heart.

I also remember being decked out in kara / pvp gear and getting a piece of loot from Hyjal or BT felt amazing.

The life before community-destroyer Crossrealms! Back when you had good people on a list and idiots on another, and people actually cared in dungeons/pugs else they would not get invited back! It was an awesome selfbalancing system that made all asshats either shape up or gtfo forever!

I hate wow now due to the community.. feels like i'm playing a singleplayer "mmorpg" with the most pathetic and rude "NPCs" ever seen in a game.

    Ugh...So many awesome things...
This might as well be a list of things that people are happy they went out the window.

The awesomeness of reagents / arrows / bullets stopped, when not all your priest brought them to a raid and either you were the one who brought enough to share or it is "sorry, raidbreak to go shopping / repair / whatnot"

The old talent tree system. Yeah..it was awesome to copy / paste them from EJ

Price of mounting only works if you have relatively few gold. That is why the fastest speed is 5000 now.

Oh...this is what this thread is all about. Armchair analysts coming together to name the reasons why the game lost subs. Only this time it is not because of LFD (as ppl claimed in Wrath) or LFR (as people claim now), it is because hunters don't have arrows and mages don't need to buy reagents.

You are all forgiven - because by the power of my join date, I can tell you that during WotLK that xpac got hate like you have never seen before. And now it is in polls often considered the best x-pac (actually head to head with MoP).

The thing that the community seems to agree on is that Cata was the worst however - for all the reasons that people hailed as the saviour of WoW at the end of the WotLK x-pac.

WotLK was so hated here for bein Wrath of the casual King that Cata was believed to save the game.

Yeah...Blizzard really needs to stop looking at forums, eh?

Oh..I remember wearing an epic at lv 40. Underworld band. Wielding an epic at 52. Krol Blade. Getting an epic for doing mindless AB - the staff from Defilers Quartermaster. The first Molten Giant killed dropped a BoE Felheart Belt. At that time, though expensive, in 2005 epics were alread sold on the AH.

So..forgive me that as a player since day 1, epics got already very common in BWL. Being "decked out in kara / pv gear and getting loot from BT /Hyjal" seems to indicate that you got carried AND joined so late that attunements were removed, otherwise you would be in SSC / TK gear before you get Hyjal gear.

Not sure what awesome memories you wanna sell here - at that time epics were on vendors and could be bought for Badges.

I agree that legendaries (Thunderfury, hammer of Sulfaras" felt awesome in Classic. Well..you kinda had to have the masochism in you to chose to boost 1 guy and 39 others step back and when in all subsequent x-pacs there is never a legendary for YOUR class, the attitude becomes rather quickly "Fuck you, why should I care"?

Yeah wonder how many left the game becouse they no longer needed to fill up 90% of their bag space with arrows, most have been alot.

I don't want to start an argument here, but can you link me a single poll where MoP has come anywhere near WotLK?

I'm simply not sure where you're getting your "head to head with MoP" comment from when every poll I've ever seen has watched Wrath annihilate every other expansion, with TBC typically in second.

Is there a pile of polls I missed?

Yeh I'm starting to think people have short term memory loss :S People whined SOOO much in wotlk compared to tbc and vanilla, toc let down, easy pugable raids, structured linear quests, bad gear designs, 12 months without content etc etc >.<

I miss slow-paced gameplay in dungeons - marking mobs for kill order and CC, carefully pulling back to avoid adds, not spamming AoE just to try and "win" the meters..
