necrotic strike + widows venom + monstrous bite

Sorry if there has already been a thread about this....but just wondering if anyone know if a dk's necrotic strike healing reduction debuff stacks with a hunters widows venom or if a hunter's devilsaur's 'monstrous bite' with the same debuff stack's it further or not at all? do all three stack up?

First off, Necrotic Strike doesn't have a healing debuff attached to it; it's a healing absorb, and it slows cast time. Second, no, healing debuffs don't stack up; one or twenty of them on a target still reduces healing by 25%.

Absolutely on the mark, now watch this thread fill up with three pages of this response with different wording :P

I would like to point out though that if you are playing with a DK it is in your best interest to choose a teammate that does have access to healing reduction. Necrotic strike is a powerful tool on it's own, but since it effectively stacks with a healing reduction (making necrotic 25% more potent) it is always better to be paired with those classes than not.

Otherwise, yes the previous response is spot on.

Necrotic strike is damage to be healed, exactly like every other kind of damage except it does nothing if its debuff falls off or if no healing is received.

If you are playing with any damage dealing class/spec, healing reduction makes any damage more potent. It is always better to have access to a healing reduction debuff, but that has nothing to do with NS.

Necrotic strike is delayed damage. What you say about it being the same as any other damage is true, except that the way it functions makes it a little more potent. Say for example you are trying to finish off a warrior and he pops shield wall. His healer is eating a CC chain but his shield wall is keeping the damage intake very small allowing his healer time to get out of the CC chain. This is a scenario in which "damage to be healed" was mitigated regardless of mortal strike effect.

Now take that same scenario but add a DK stacking necrotic on the warrior. The damage of the strike was affected by shield wall, but the healing absorb is not. So when that healer gets out of the CC chain, the warrior is now at low health, has a 300K healing absorb stacked on him and his shield wall is wearing off and he is about to take full damage once again.

To say that necrotic is damage to be healed just like any other damage is a little short sighted and honestly not very imaginative.
