    Looking to upgrade/improve PC (UK)

Hi guys, I'm looking for advice that any of you may have to improve my PC. At the moment, rather annoyingly, I am only getting 20 FPS in WoW with my current system. I have a budget of an absolute max of £500. I would rather try to avoid replacing the GPU (HD 7790) as my BF only just bought this recently.

No OS or peripherals are required. Thx in advance.

Its just a guide to make you understand.

Now if you dont want to overclock, or if you dont want anything to do with it just buy.

    i5 4570 instead of the 4670K and a H87 Motherboard instead of the Z87.

Keep the rest the same and you will be fine.

SSD is pretty much a must for overall performance/speed of your machine, use the old HDD as storage.

7790 is a weak card also, so do not have crazy options enabled and i can see you have high resolution for the card.

It is not a gaming card so high revolutions arent meant for it.

    Shadows at Low

    View Distance at Fair/Good

    1x Multisampling

    SSAO at Off

    Sunshafts at Off

    Liquid Detail: Fair/Good

Most important part is to have shadows at low and multisampling at 1x.

Thx for the reply.. as I am a PC building newbie, I'm not sure whether these would fit into my existing case (Acer M3910). Which is a good value case that you could recommend if I need to replace it?

Confused a bit about the GPU comments.. according to it http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...ance,3462.html it seems a decent card for the money?

The card isnt bad or horrible or whatever, its just not a gaming card, its a high end media card which means its not future proof.

Its perfect for WoW and older games, but you will see what i mean if you try to run a game a year or two from now xD or today games with Ultra settings.

I think it should be made clear... The 7790 is not a bad card. And it's definitely a gaming card. I imagine it will be more than any for any of WoW's GPU requirements. If WoW is all you play, then don't bother.

If you play OTHER games that aren't MMO's.. then.. maybe you can try. But a 7790 is just fine for WoW, and will continue to be for the life of the computer.

If you're sending it back, then look into the R7-260X for the higher VRAM for a similar price, (EDIT)but chazus is right - the 7790 should be adequate for WoW.

As chazus said and as i said before.

It is not a bad card, you do not have to send it back, its alright for WoW, and probably any game that came out 2012-2013 that you wont put High Shadows and Anti-Aliasing on, just remember not to have those settings on and on newer games and the card is fine for a couple of years.

Also chazus it is a media card , its a 7700 series with higher memory clock and a few tflops higher than the 7770, its a good card, but at 128bit interface its a media card just a very strong media card for today games.
