Runner up would be Firelands, really awesome looking when you're on the hill when you first walk in and you can see everything.

I always liked BRD maybe it was just the size of it when I started playing, but the sense of adventure is strong with this one.
End time was pretty cool, apocalyptic

Maraudon, just thought it was awesome when I was new to WoW, first time I fell into those waterfalls O.o

lots of awesome looking instances my fav 5mans being
the nexus, Ahn Kahet the old kingdom, Scholomance, Zul Gurub, Halls of Origination, Blackrock Caverns, Pit of Saron, Stonecore
best raids: Firelands, Kharazan, Naxxramas, Bastion of Twilight, Ulduar.
agree with Dravelar, cata had some really colorful raids like BOT TOT4w and Firelands. plus ZG and ZA were nice 5mans.

I can't really think of anything that really grabbed my interest visually but Ulduar.
There are a lot of nice looking raids, like BoT, ICC, Throne of the four winds, ToT, but nothing like Ulduar, IMO. The descent into madness was beautiful. The train to Mimiron was awesome. The watcher's rooms were well done.

The first time I stopped and looked around on Vortex Pinnacle I was amazed, its has an incredible design.
One that I need to mention is Well of Eternity, I really like the looks of that place.

Not listed in any particular order.
Maraudon. Huge cave with a former attunement! Pretty good stuff for not even being a max level dungeon. My personal favorite dungeon.
Dire Maul (all wings). I'm biased because I like the lore, but damn if it isn't good looking.
Stratholme. I liked the Postman thing going on and the broken shop signs that give off a former human city feel.
Karazhan. Very well done as the tower of Medivh. Great music too!
Sunken Temple. Really feels like a.. sunken temple. Gives off good eerie vibes.

No love for Ahn'Kahet and Azjol'Nerub? Ahn'Kahet in particular has a pretty amazing background in certain places.
