[Audio] Speakers Red/Black wires to AUX Male

Would connecting a phone using AUX to 2x RCA into a HiFi system work and transmit the sound from my phone to the speakers?

System: Sony CMT EX1

While in the Audio subject, can anyone recommend some decent Amplifier for headphones (XB 700) for use with my PC & Phone.

PS: I can't try it out now since the speakers/system are 1.2k miles away (flying to SVK next Friday, gotta get a new passport since I lost my old, derp).

I can´t see any reason this wouldn´t work. Jack (AUX) to phono (RCA) is pretty normal, especially with phone to hifi setups
