Computer screen flashed black last night.

Here is an interesting story from last/early this morning. Maybe others know what went down?

So last night some time I'm just browsing the webs not doing anything special while chatting on raidcall with someone who lives in Canada(I live in Boston). His screen flashed back real fast, 5 seconds later my screen flashes black. I'm like okay, some Nvidia shit or something probably. Happened again few minutes later,then me 5 seconds later. I'm like lets ask Dave. Fell asleep before I got a response from him but I got up and this is from him just now.

2:08 PM so wait that happened to you too?
2:08 PM my screen flashed and it reverted to the windows classic shit
2:08 PMi couldn't get the windows aero theme back
2:09 PM and my computer started squeaking
2:09 PM all happened last night
2:09 PM i restarted my pc and everything was fine

Windows does this test - Checks out your PC's performance, and turns off Aero (Flashes screen black, goes to "classic" look) if it deems it to be poor.
