Thats probably just a mis-click by Notarget... Pcpartpicker recently changed their interface from radio buttons (Click what you want) to sliders (Slide this this way, that that way, screw it up, slide it again). It's really friggin annoying. I've made that mistake a number of times in the past week or so since they changed it.

This ought to do fine. It's like a buck more.

    Yep!

And strange.. it was 70.99 when I clicked, but I guess prices updated in the last hour or so. You can look for yourself, too.

    http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/memory...,1500&sort=a10

I set the search to 2x4gb size, 1.35-1.5 voltage, 1600-1866 speed.

Jt, If you're in the States and are within driving distance of a MicroCenter store I recommend getting the i5 4670k and motherboard there. I picked up the same processor for 179 bucks and an ASRock board better than what I was going to get for 99 dollars.

Yeah the 1.65v RAM was just a misclick. Prices change all the time on RAM so just check back once you're ready to buy.

Sorry to update a old thread.

I made another thread but there was no replys I think I posted it in the wrong spot haha but anyway. I am finally going to be able to get a better gaming rig next month and I came up with this build and wondered what you guys though about it. It is different then my new threads build since I though it out more.

    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gkn9wP

    CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID= $117.00
    CPU Cooler: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID= $34.99
    Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID= $79.94
    Memory: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID= $79.99
    Storage: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID= $69.99
    Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID= $189.99
    Case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID= $159.99
    Power Supply: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...62apd.Ywu2juXw $104.99
    Case Fan 80MM: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID= $5.99
    Case Fan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID= $7.99

    Total Cost is $850.86.
Price's is after mail in rebait/free shipping when available.

Some prices are different then the PCpartpicker list because I went with a couple sites that cost slightly more since I am use to them. I perfer Tigerdirect/Newegg/amazon/bestbuy. So I know I have had to pay maybe $30 more or so then I would have. Would love comments about this build and I am trying to make it as cheap as I can. I can give up the HD and just use my 500gig I got but I was kinda wanting everything new.

The only thing I won't give up is the case because I really do like it. My brother and his gf has one and I just like it. The CPU cooler isn't a must it was just a idea so I can use the stock cooler as a backup if its needed. Finally biting the bullet and going intel for CPU but ill only use AMD GPU sorry.

Edit1: This is the original build I came up with that cost slightly more http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DYfFmG
Edit2: If someone can help me figure out why they cost almost the same that would be helpful LOL.
Edit3: Figured it out why they cost almost the same. Since I only deal with Newegg/Amazon/Bestbuy/TigerDirect its costing me slightly more on this build and so will the other build.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it, putting lower end parts in a $180 full tower case is simply ridiculous. It's obviously your choice but I can't really make a recommendation based on that because it's going to feel like highway robbery.

Motherboard/CPU combo is far better and will more easily be able to reach the goals you set in the OP.

This includes a 256GB on top of that.

More appropriate power supply. The 850W unit you had was MASSIVE overkill and waste of money. Even with the CPU upgrade in my suggestion the 750W unit is overkill but the price is right and you're getting a modular unit on top of that.

The case isn't high end but it's a really solid budget case with 2 x intake and 1 exhaust fan, quite good for $60. We can obviously look for other options if you don't like it.

This is how the build would look with a higher end case at a reasonable price and a smaller SSD. You could skip the SSD all together and just save the money, though personally I would prefer an SSD.

Last option would be to go with my first build but remove the SSD and get a better GPU like this Sapphire Radeon R9 280X 3GB Dual-X $240

Edit: Or skip the 1TB HDD since you have a drive already as you mention, this goes for any of the combinations. The 280X for example is about the cost difference of what you would save.

Nice. I like the tower I picked but totally get ur point.

Ya I'm personally not worried about a SSD. I was looking at that CPU and was wondering if it was worth the $100 cost difference.

At lease we had the same opinion on the video card lol. Also I did not even notice I picked a 850W I though I clicked on a 700W lol.

Also because of where the case will sit it will need a fan slot on the left side "as in my left if I was facing the frount of the case"
I know it was costing me some extra because of the brands I was trying to stick with for the parts and where I was buying them. No big deal tho I like both builds really besides the top ones case.

Is the 1866 ram worth it I hear the difference in it and the 1600 normally isnt. I think I will remove the SD on the top build and go with a better gpu. I would perfer to not use my current HD since ill just keep my current tower as a backup and I would like all new parts.

Edit: I do like this case http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AAH9O6E/?tag=pcpapi-20 so I mite do the top build but with that case
Edit2: I added the case above to the top build and its $9 more so I think its well worth it. I personally rather have a full size case.
Edit3: I added http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IJO4IB6/?tag=pcpapi-20 to the top build just because it is $10 more and I perfer that brand more. But over all those are the only changes I added to the top build and I do believe thats what ill be getting. What do you think?

Edit4: Sorry for all the edits. This is the build I came up with using ur top build. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/CWsV23 Figured I spend the extra $10 here and there and get some brands I like. Costing me about $30 more then ur top build. What do you think and it should run most games at 60fps ultra right? Looking to do it at 1080p in the future but atm Ill be using my 720p monitor.

G.Skill RAM is good, really most RAM brands are fine. The G.Skill is cheaper, lower latency (which is a good thing), nothing wrong with your choice though.

Your latest build is a lot better even though I think the case looks pretty bad for the cost. May I ask why you need a fan on the side panel? Your system isn't going to get crazy warm

Here are some other alternative you may wanna look at:

Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 $100
Fractal Design Define R4 (Black Pearl) $90
Fractal Design Define R4 Blackout Edition $90

Corsair 500R Black $110 (comes with 200mm side fan installed)
Corsair 500R White $113 (comes with 200mm side fan installed)
    Corsair 450D $100

LIAN LI PC-7HB $100 (Aluminum case)
    LIAN LI PC-7B $85

If it must be a full tower then I'd go with one of these:

    Phanteks Enthoo Pro White $110
    Phanteks Enthoo Pro Black $104

    Cooler Master Storm Trooper $130

Rosewill RISE $80 (slim full tower) || LED fan version
    Rosewill THOR V2 $91

My room gets extreamlly dusty and that was one of the reasons why I was wanting the big fan to the side. So all other fans blow cool air in and I hope the big one blows the hot air and most of the dust out. Thats how I was going to set it up anyway. Also it isn't as open as the right side. I was kinda wanting fans in the frount/back and left and if need be top. I can work with anything really. My current case is just frount and back.

A full tower is a must incase I get a video card in the future that dosen't fit. Just future proofing a bit.

I really do like the Rosewill THOR V2 do you know if it comes with the fans or if ill have to buy them. Sadly it isn't cheaper then the one I picked out lol. But if it comes with the fans and mine done Ill chose it haha. Trying to cut cost a little awhile at the sametime get brands I like and all LOL.

Mite get a better video card if its just slightly more in case since I am already spending near a grand anyway not counting mail in rebates lol.

Tells you right there in the title on Newegg, comes with Four Fans - 1 x Front Red LED 230mm Fan, 1 x Top 230mm Fan, 1 x Side 230mm Fan, 1 x Rear 140mm Fan

None of those mid towers are exactly small and trust me you will have ZERO issues fitting in new cards in the future. They're not going to magically become much longer than they are now. I know it seems I'm trying to talk you out of getting a full tower case but really, I'm just trying to get you the best value for your money. You might think you need something that you actually don't, like spacious enough etc.

If you have a dusty room then filters are what you're looking for not more fans or side fans. Take the Fractal Design cases, they come with filters for everything. Do yourself a favor and check some video reviews on Youtube for the ones you could be interested in (of the ones I've mentioned). Look for these channels when deciding on a review (I'm sure there are more):

OC3D TV (long and very detailed reviews)
HardwareCanucks (shorter but very well done reviews)

Thx for all the help I think I'm going to get the Rosewill THOR V2.

I understand your trying to help me save money I am just a little picky is all lol. I do like the rosewill case a lot and the fact it comes with the fans is a bonus. I hit my max lol. Base total is $1007 after mail in rebates and all its $891.72

Was going to try to wiggle a little room in for a better video card but if I don't get all these rebates it won't happen LOL. Its all good tho thx a ton should be around the first of next month I can order it

Hey with some brainstorming we found you what you were looking for with some added performance, that's never bad, good luck!

Yeah the 4690k will do just fine for streaming. An i7 is obviously better but the i5 is not bad at all with some lower presets. AMD also has their own streaming option to Twitch through Gaming Evolved where the GPU does most of the work.

I just got done watching a video on how this cooler is installed and then looked it up on newegg. Its not stated if it works with the LGA1150 socket and that is what the CPU is

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...D=3938566&SID=

    CPU Socket Intel Socket:
    LGA 2011 / 1366 / 1156 / 1155 / 775 *

    AMD Socket:
    FM2 / FM1 / AM3+ / AM3 / AM2+ / AM2
It dose support the 1156 and 1155 tho. Is this a problem or will it still support it. PCpartpicker dose show it supports the LGA1150 socket tho.

The guy in the video said it dose in the comments I just wanted to make sure.
