    The scenario of Russia invading Ukraine was not exactly out of the blue. The division of Ukraine between pro-Russia and pro-West, and issues about pipelines, and of course Sevastopol has meant that people have been fearing this sort of thing might happen for years now.

    Most people just didn't think Putin would have the nerve to actually do it. But it has been a real possibility for years.
