I love Daniel Tosh. After watching Boondock Saints 1&2, they popped in Billy Connelly's standup act and OMG he was hilarious. I didn't believe them when they said the Saint's dad was a comedian! Oh and they are always watching George Carlin, he makes me smile.

Lee Evans, Lee Mack, Jimmy Carr, Reginald D Hunter, Bill Bailey not in that order but I think highly of all of them

Agree with this, (I even cosplay as Sir Robin,) though there's one or two sketches that
got little more than a chuckle from me.

    This sketch always kills me:

    And also this:

A lot of Python is great, though the odd sketch falls shockingly short when compared to the classics.

The only American comedians I really like are Matt Stone and Trey Parker, though like Python its 50/50, some South Park episodes are terrible and I feel they're losing their touch a bit.

Everyone seems to like Louis CK, but I think he's awful most of the time, though when he doesn't do simple observation comedy involving society/politics he's tolerable.

Lots of comedians make vague socio-political assertions, presented ironically without a punchline that can be dismissed after you think after it for more than 30 seconds. I hate this.

UK comedy is going downhill rapidly, the markets pretty saturated and it feels like 70% of TV is just comedy panel shows with bad token female comedians surrounded by worse male comedians.

    Robin Williams
    John Pinette
    Christopher Titus
    Mitch Hedberg
    Louis CK

Williams gets me every time I see something of his, no matter what it is.

    John Pinette was hilariously self-depricating.

Titus is just completely funny with his stories of his life.

Mitch Hedberg was just so original that he was brilliant.

Louis CK is just outrageously funny.

Most comedians bring something to the table that will make me laugh because lets face it, they wouldn't be professionals if they weren't funny to some degree. As far as which ones appeal to me personally I'd have to say...

Pablo Francisco, because of his impersonations
Bill Burr, because he calls it how he see's it without all the proper etiquette filter bs
Dave Chapelle, because some of his skits are stupid funny (Key and Peele have some good ones as well)

Monty Python's "Woody words" sketch from episode 42.

Kathy Griffin - I know there will be alot of hate over that. I haven't been that much into her recent specials but her 2005-2010 specials get me everytime.

    Tim Minchin, obviously.

Well, and Monty Python, as the best comedians of all time.

    Dannis Leary
    George Carlin

Or, if I'm looking for stuff that isn't particularly offensive and/or am around a group of pansies:

    Jeff Foxyworthy
    Bill Engvall
(Both pre-Blue Collar Comedy stuff only)

I do on rare occasions like Andrew Dice Clay and Rodney Carrington, but I have to really be in the mood for it. I'm sure there are half a dozen or more british comedians I like, but I can't ever seem to recall their names lol.

I like the sketches of The Office

  14. #34
    George Carlin deffinately.

I'd say my favorite overall is probably Steve Harvey.

The standup stuff that Jim Carrey did was awesome too.

  16. #36
Mitch Hedberg has gotta be my favourite. He was even in a short skit on "That 70's show"

Dave Chapelle is great too, and Steve Carell from The Office.

    You cared enough to post.

George Carlin rules the roost for me, close followers being Robin Williams, Denis Leary, Eddie Griffin and Jeff Dunham.

Best piece he ever did, IMO.

Can't really decide on favourite comedian, bit of a toss up between Chris Rock, George Carlin, Dave Chappelle and Russell Peters, but my favourite sketch off the top of my head is Dave Chappelle's Clayton Bigsby skit.

I have too many to list, but lately I've been a fan of Kathleen Madigan. Definitely the best female comedian I think ever. She's friends with Lewis Black, to give you a small idea of her comedy (she's not nearly as vulgar, but she still is). Not much I can find on Youtube, the best I guess is these two, and this one is basically the beginning of second-to-latest album. but check her stuff out on Spotify.
