Using warlock pet to help tank take less dmg on Malkrok 10HC ?

Hi there.
I heard from a friend that on Malkrok 10HC Blood Rage phase if you stack your pets(and hunter pets also) in the aoe cleave right next to tank, they will all share dmg, meaning tanks will take tons of less damage. And since pets take less dmg from AoE, then there's no danger of them dying either - if they do , then locks can insta revive them.

Is this true ? Would it be a reliable strat ?
I didn't find anything about it from any guides I've seen so I figured I might just ask.

I'm not sure if pets count towards the damage split. These kinds of abilties tend to avoid pets completely.

They tend to not include pets/minions/guardians for share mechanics, especially after what happened with Tsulong in Terrace with 2-3 hunters and a single Resto Shaman.
