No flying could mean a better experience

So background first, I've been playing since early bc, went through the pain of having a 60% speed mount and getting pwnd at level 70 by people with 100% speed mounts, I personally am happy to play the game like how azeroth used to be, while yes, flying makes life easier and I don't have to take the fp everywhere go afk while flying and come back to a dead me at the foot of the flight master ( although id rather that than going afk while auto flying and coming back to a dead me out in the middle of the ocean and being sent to westfall graveyard) I believe no flying mounts will give players a more exciting experience, i remember chasing people though STV and tbh finding some really cool places while i chased them or running through ashenvale for my and winding my way though trees to lose them. My point is yes flying mounts are cool (very cool) but all in all take away a lot from the experience of the game. I could also just be remembering a time as something greater than what it was.( like how i complain that LFG has destroyed server communities, I mean I'd MUCH rather spend 2 hours spamming trade for a heroic dungeon >_> *sarcasm*) anyone else think that no flying mounts could bring something BACK to the game that was lost?

While I'm sure there will be times where I will be wishing I could just mount up and fly over something, I am actually really looking foward to not being able to fly. I do think it enhances the experience (at least first time through).

Negative. No flying isn't going to be fun. I don't know what they're thinking.

When you place monsters on every possible corner, with huge agro range and everything dazes you... heck no...

I have enough of Pandaria NPC placement bullshit. Can't do shit in some locations without getting agro from damn Yangaul... You killed monsters and moved 10 yards? Good, have more of shit to cope with, while that lad over there goes and mines your node...

Or give stealth to every class.

Meh. Ground mounts bore me. I still haven't finished Isle of Thunder or Timeless Isle because I get bored. I have a DK sitting at 86 I might not even bother with boosting because I get bored. There's no magical compulsion to socialize and PvP that comes with being on a horse--I play on an RP-PvE server and plan to click the "Never flag me ever" option as soon as 6.0 hits, and if I don't feel like talking to someone I run by out in the open world, it's not gonna matter whether I'm on a dragon or a horse, I'm still probably not gonna talk to them. "/1 LFG [Event that requires group]" then crushing the mobs in total silence before disbanding isn't really social on any level but the most barebones basic, either, and that ain't gonna change just because we're all riding toward the broken caravan on horses.
Be seeing you guys on Bloodsail Buccaneers NA!

for leveling sure, I'd buy that. end game when I have better shit to do? fuck that.

I think flying has been an overall negative on the game. I admire them taking a chance on this. We'll see how it works out.

I was OK with no flying during leveling. It made sense. But given the whole discussion and the plans for WoD right now, I was actually paying close attention to my playing and my regular in-game habits on max-lv.

Well you know what, no flying is a BS idea. Like SL1200 said: don't know what they're thinking. I don't see how's that supposed to improve my experience. It just won't and it can't. In fact, it will very plainly just suck. Fuck that.

or not. I can't think of a single thing where not flying is better. Like the poster a few above me, I play on a RP-PvE Server and will also be checking that "don't flag me ever" button.

I also haven't finished Timeless Isle -- mainly because I think it is poorly done and extremely boring. Also, flying on TI would be very useful...someone announces that a rare is up and you are on the other side of the island, by the time you run (or mount) across there is a good chance that the mob is dead by the time you get there and you probably have a few mobs chasing you. At least with flying you might have half a chance to get there.

Without flying Warcraft would be a historically inaccurate medieval game instead of the fantasy game that millions of people have enjoyed.

Ever heard of PVE server ? I don't care world PVP.

Let PVE server fly. We'll see how much pvpers will stay on no flight PVP servers.

What? Flying mounts added to the game in TBC. They allowed the player to explore the world around them on a deeper level. Did being able to fly in the Skyguard hub stop players from PVPing over fishing nodes and quest objectives? No. Giving people reason to land and fight one another is one thing. Forcing them all on the ground is another.

Flying wasn't always about skipping stuff. I don't know why it's suddenly been labeled by the devs as a bad thing. When TBC was launching the ability to fly was billed to us as a way to see and do more, not mindlessly ignore aspects of the game.

Currently playing Borderlands 1 remaster. Amped for Borderlands 3.

Because flying makes something fantasy. Millions of people enjoyed wow when it came out without flying and I'm sure all the babies can survive without it.

Why isn't it going to be fun though? Other than using flying for gathering (which will be the toughest thing to do), you can easily hop on over to a flight path to get where you need to go. It isn't going to change much.

In all honesty pretty much ALL my good memories of bc were in azeroth, outlands was dailies and raids and shat, I know what you are saying that when they first showed flying mounts the dude was flying a nether drake and it was like omfgawbdnsdvanasd, but today flying to me is boring its a GREAT convenience by making me get places faster (aim in the direction I want *hits numllock**leaves computer*) and I agree that when they gave us flying mounts that wasnt how it was used 24/7, but now I feel as if it takes more away from the game I mean if they want to just give me convenience i'd like to just click somewhere on the map and teleport there, which im sure you could see would ruin a game, I mean flying mounts are almost used the same way, its just not instant.

I'd really love to see flying being permanently switched off. Ruined the atmosphere of the game quite a lot, imo, even though it's comfortable.

It may be a wild guess but perhaps the no flying restriction is due to technical reasons related to the garrisons.
