While she is by all means entitled to her own opinions and the right to voice them, she certainly doesn't have the right to indoctrinate our youth and threaten the very fabric that holds our community together.

With that being said, this thread isn't about my professor or gun control special interest groups, no sir, this thread is about bringing Americans together. Whatever happened to the values we held so dear? Whatever happened to "if you see something, say something?" And whatever happened to principled men and women who had the courage to stand up to tyranny and oppression? Is this what you want, America? To have your nation destroyed from within by agitators and terrorists? That's not freedom, not to me... not to me.

It's not too late, America, it's not too late. Do you think we have what it takes to defend this great nation?
Now read it with the voice of President John Henry Eden(from Fallout3) and its perfect lol

I need to stop forum browsing when tired. I thought you said my country was being destroyed by alligators and terrorists.

So, let me get this straight..... Firing people for having different political views is what you see as "freedom"? Must say I am glad I don't use the same dictionary as you. I must wonder though - if I hear the pitter patter of feet crossing the bridge. I may be wrong but it does SOUND like it.

To be fair, that's more realistic than the OP's pre-school teacher being the cause of destruction.

Because the "us and them" mentality IS human nature. you can't change it, you can't stop it, it just is (like breathing)
If you can't make fun of something, its probably not worth taking seriously.

Oh yes you CAN change it... it's a mental state fueled by fear that you willingly surrender to think about, nothing more. You change it through science, through understanding and learning and knowledge. The way you defeat fear is to learn the truth about what you fear. You change it by learning to live conciously, and not through your emotions or prejudices.

No... it is NOT human nature. It is, however, the nature of the coward. "Us and Them" isn't Human Nature - the truth is those cowards really say "The one good thing about me is I'm not one of THEM!". it's merely a strawman excuse to allow oneself to feel superior by making others "wrong" instead of wanting to become superior yourself.

Problem is, the concepts of democracy, and free markets, open trade, yada yada, etc, etc, are very broad concepts with many considerations to keep in mind.

In North America (Sorry but Canada has been going this way lately too) we've opted for the fast food version of democracy and freedumb.

    Thousand words, meet picture.
"In today’s America, conservatives who actually want to conserve are as rare as liberals who actually want to liberate. The once-significant language of an earlier era has had the meaning sucked right out of it, the better to serve as camouflage for a kleptocratic feeding frenzy in which both establishment parties participate with equal abandon" (Taking a break from the criminal, incompetent liars at the NSA, to bring you the above political observation, from The Archdruid Report.)

As the past few pages have shown, there really isn't any constructive conversation to be had from outdated fearmongering with no actual topic but "Freedom is threatened." Especially when the basis for the topic was on a thread that was closed.

    Closed.
