Don't care if someone is a vegan, unless they try to push it on others which is almost always hilarious to watch. Stronger animals eat weaker animals. A lion isn't "cruel" for killing a child, it's just hungry.

However, to answer your question, we as humans are cruel because we can be. We
have so much computing power in our skulls that it needs something to do, so it
calculates everything, even the horrible things. On occasion, some of these thoughts
are acted upon. Sometimes people like it. Therefore- cruelty.

However, I assume you mean more towards something like "Why do we as humans eat
our fellow animals?" Simplest answer? We're omnivores.

I don't mind choice vegans or their ideals, (though they're nowhere near my own,) but
I do have something against all of the times I've had their opinions and beliefs shoved
in my face. Like anything, it gets annoying.
