Unfortunately, it's 'modernization' that got us in this position.
Netherlands. Has been privatized, in terms of health care, for a while now. Total disaster.

27 USD a week, 700 deductible, 80% covered until it reaches 3500 out of pocket, then the rest is 100% covered.

Just did the math, of my taxes about 1700 kroner (313 USD, 227 euros) goes to the healthcare system. That is actually quite acceptable in my mind

22 euros every 30 days for a basic insurance. Then you have one that cowers you for 50, 70 , 150 and 300.

If you dont have a basic you are gona pay from 1000-2000 euros just for some scan of brains. Total mafia here.
    Don't sweat the details!!!

I pay about 400 US dollars per month, with no annual deductible, but a high 7000 out of pocket max. The co pays are 25 for a doctor's visit and 35 for a specialist. hospital stays are 150 per day copay with a max of 5 days to pay for. After that you stay for free. No cost for surgical operations or blood tests, etc. No vision or dental coverage however. 10 dollar co pay for generic drugs, 25 for brand name and 45 for non formulary ones. ( whatever the hell that is ). This the family plan. Which I have from the Federal Government as a retired employee. The same plan for a single person would be like 180 per month.

Seeing some of these posts only re-enforces my feelings we need universal health care here in the US. Those who complain we would get inferior care and have long wait times, are only looking at the complaints. I know several people personally who are very satisfied with the care and cost they get in Canada for example. I compare it to those who complain at the treatment they have got at a VA clinic. I am a veteran and I have nothing but good to say about my local VA clinic. If it was not for my wife needing insurance, I would drop my Federal Employees Health plan and go with the VA. Which would save me a lot of money each year.
