Software needs to evolve with the times, otherwise we'd all still be playing WoW Vanilla, which if you look at it through an objective lens, kind of sucked compared to now.
Remember at one point the following were "Iconic":
- 40 man Raids
- Having only one AH per faction
- Horde having to get their butts over to Searing Gorge just to raid MC and BWL
- Paladins wearing Cloth and being cleanse bots (Decursive Mod being manditory)
- Shaman being forced to go Resto for Mana Tide
- Druids being forced to go Resto for Innervate
- Stacking mana per 5 second regen gear
- Completely unnecessary "resistance checks" fights in every Raid to gate advancement
- Only 8 debuffs on a raid boss
- Inner Fire granted Attack Power buffs
And there are plenty more. These were all things that devs removed, and the game is better because of it.
