I was born at the end of August of 1988 which is only 16 months until 1990. I've basically considered myself to be a 90's kid, mostly because I can't honestly call myself an 80's kid.
Were you ever ever subjected to the original My Little Pony? Before Grown men took it over?

So you can define your life as video games, toys, and television. What an incredibly interesting and unique individual you must be. But I must apologize because sometimes my cynicism comes pouring out. What is "weird" about being born in 1993?
Fuck all you 90s kids
80s kid reporting in
I was born in 1981 and the 80s was awesome but the 90s was shit!
Born in 79. I'm an 80's kid. Grew up watching Tranformers, GI Joe, He-Man and others. First played video games on a friend's Atari (2600 maybe?), My firts system I owned was a Plain ole Nintendo/Zapper set.
I feel like to be a 90's kid, you have to have been born prior to the 90's... Being born in that generation doesn't make you part of it. I was born in 1990 and I wouldn't consider myself a 90's kid. Sure I played video games and did some of the 90's things when I was 5+, but I missed out on almost everything from 90-96ish. I consider myself more of a 00's kid because that's where most of my memories are from. Getting a ps2, getting an xbox. Playing the first halo on xbox live etc. I didn't witness much within my first 5 years... but post 2000, i witnessed multiple generations of gaming come and go. Who cares if you aren't part of some generation... does that somehow void all your memories? Who cares if most of your memories are from 00's, those were great times too.
Most likely the wisest Enhancement Shaman.
This is so dumb. You're a bit of a 90's and 00's kid. There you go.
I think you're confusing cynicism with being an asshole.
Your life is pretty much defined by what you do, which as a kid should be watching cartoons and playing with toys and besides that i fail to see how the Op is defining his life by anything by simply asking what generation his childhood would be classed as.
I'd say late 80's kids are the more 90's kids. I was been in '87 and very much consider myself a 90's kid. The 90's were over the same year you become a teenager, that's pretty fitting.
Im not sure what 90s kid means but there is more to what generation you belong to than video games and cartoons. If 90s kids are kids that were teenagers in the 90s then their experiences will be different than kids born in the 90s even if they played the same video games. Also someone playing a game at age 15 will have a different perspective and experience than someone who was 4 (seriously doubt the OP actually remembers being this young). The fact that a young kid that doesnt remember what it was like before video games is a huge difference.
The most important thing that ties you to a generation is the culture around you and if you are less than 10 years old, you are not actually experiencing it. Do you remember the Persian Gulf War, the Monica Lewinsky Scandal, or the death of Kurt Cobain? If you dont you are probably not a 90s kid. If the first president you remember is George W Bush, you are probably not a 90s kid. If you had a cell phone before high school you are probably not a 90s kid.
Were you a kid in the 90s? Yeah? Ok then.
I think generally everyone can consider themselves a kid of two decades for the most part, the two in which you grew up.
If someone is like me and born very late or in the last year of a decade ('79 in my case), they might not really claim that decade. I don't claim the 70s since I don't remember and only existed in it for the last 8 months of it. My childhood was 80s and 90s so those are the ones I claim. As for you though, I mean early 90s, that counts, you at least recall part of it.
Granted other than nostalgia being a 00s young adult prob topped being an 80s/90s kid... lol (And now I'm pretend old. /cry)

Thankfully, they are. I grew up in the middle of no-where, and I didn't / don't get many
tv channels, (11 right now, was nine for years until I messed with our connection recently.)
I didn't get to grow up with all of those awesome shows or classic games, so I'm glad
they're still around, because now I can enjoy them fully.
Of course you are a 90's kid, being born in the 90's.
I was born in the late 80's, but I can remember more 70's and 80's stuff. From music, TV show, clothing, furniture and what have you. Than I can remember 90's stuff.
My parents where somewhat poor, we never had anything of the latest technology or anything fancy until the late 90's.
I grew up with a lot of "old" things. Casette tapes/players, walkman, vinyl records, radio, analog weather maps with fancy stick-on clouds and whatnot that some guy moved around.
I also remember this strange thing called " the outdoors", it had trees and stuff.
First game I vividly remember playing would be Popeye for the Colecovision.
