I learned the hard way a long time ago when mocking someone for having 50 characters (not all at level cap). We were discussing alts, and this person mentioned they play between 8 and 12 hours a day. I was being an ass at the time and asked if they'd ever even seen a naked girl other than free porn sites. The OP responded by linking their facebook page and their personal site which were linked together to raise money for his son's cancer research. He had a serious cancer stage by the time he was 12. The hospital had him in his own room, and provided him with wifi. His dad bought him a used laptop and installed WoW on it, playing with him every day since he could not get out and play with others.
Between his chemo treatments, and time spent puking, he said WoW calmed him and gave him access to people when the real world restricted him. He died in 2008, and even had a character and quest placed in his honor.

I learned humility the hard way. Now, I caution others and regret everyday being a dbag, and consciously try to show everyone an equal amount of respect.

Agreed. There are /played threads on this very forum with people who have over 1000 hours of playtime. If they enjoyed themselves, I say good for them.
