My girlfriend wants a new laptop. Suggestions?

I'm not good at this crap. My brother built me a desktop and I've never had to deal with the hardware side of things. I just throw my money at people I trust. Don't really want to spend this money on a ripoff; what should we be looking for? She wants to run Sims 3 with every expansion, with a decent framerate, and other than that, Tumblr. I'd rather ask MMO-C than a guy trying to sell me something at Best Buy, y'know? xD

For that budget i would look for an A10 cpu the on chip graphics are good but at that price expect bad viewing angles and a washy looking screen!
