And He's just what America needs. He was a great man. I think he was greater than MLK. I love this video BTW.

I see a lot of people mentioning that he was a hateful and racist jackass...which was true to a point. He was like that, until he went to Mecca. When he came back, he was a completely different person. So...I mean, he changed his old ways and adopted new peaceful ones. Then he gets killed. Irony.

I think his early years were a step back in relations, however I believe he was a changed man and that he and MLK JR were going to team up on the whole non-violence thing.

You cannot say you like Nelson Mandela, then say you hate Malcolm X. They both changed.

Why not? America has been the most important nation in the world for at least the past 100 years.

Its pretty much a drop in the ocean when it comes to history. My guess is that some countries prefer to inform about democracy and values before going into NA history, and rightfully so as there as quite a few countries that still struggle with the basics of society.

    More likely since ww2.

After WW2, it's more apt to say we made a lot of noise.

...people just want to remember the negative parts of his history...

He is remembered for his entire biography, the good and the bad. The man went through some shit, caused some shit, and then cleaned up his shit (which ultimately led to his death).

He was smart person and reflects a full spectrum of human characteristics.

He is one of the reasons why you should always take time to consider someones circumstances and be willing to forgive as people are capable of change if given the chance.

While his thinking was not my cup of tea, blacks might have not gotten their rights without him. MLK said " You can either deal with me or him."(phrasing), so they talked to MLK. Without him they might have ignored MLK.

I watched the movie with Denzell Washington playing the role of Malcom X and i walked away with 2 very polarizing opinions on the man.

The only part of American history I recall learning was Pocahontas, but that was because she died and was buried in my hometown.

OT: Public Enemy sampled Malcolm X speeches..."Too black, too strong". Beyond that I know eff all about him.

We didn't have the same issues regarding race in the UK as the US had, so he is pretty much irrelevant to British people, as is Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King.

Yeah and his bad gets less and less reported as time goes by. Funny how that works, pretty much the entire civil rights movements history has been distorted and embellished.

We did the civil war a little bit and WW1&2.

There are far more important events & countries in our history though, can only fit so much.
