    r9 280 Yes? No?

    I'm in the market for a new Video Card

    and i ended up on this R9 280 --> 279,99 after MIR

    im canadian so i cant have acces to those sexy US price

    Anyone would have a better suggestion at this price range?

    What do you intend to use it for ?

    Just in case you are not aware of amd's naming scheme R9 280 and R9 280x are different cards

    its for gaming

    wow, bf4, daylight when its come out, etc

    and yea I know its not the 280x but I havent heard alot about the r9 280

    The 280 is basicly a 7950 if im not mistaken.

    You're better of getting the 280 and doing a slight overclock and you should have the same performance as the 280x when overclocked. It's the same story with the 7950 & 7970, in between 3-5 % performance of eachother at stable overclock.
