The Skyseeker is the one that crashed. It even says so in the article you linked. I'd say you need to L2Research, too.
Skyfire flew us from SW to Pandaria. Plus Admiral Rogers's motivational paratrooper speech says, "This is the ship that took down Deathwing." She even mentions the ship has been completely re-outfitted with heavier arsenal and other tech when you talk prior to leaving for pandaria.
On-Topic: I assume the mists parted primarily due to the Cataclysm (pretty sure Blizz made some official mention of this, but I can't be arsed to find it). I also assume the primary reason we didn't "discover" until two years after Deathwing's fall is because, as General Nazgrim says while talking to Garrosh, "An enormous land mass shrouded in mist." Chances are the mist that mystically hid the continent for over 10,000 years took awhile to dissipate. Add that to the fact that the Horde, Alliance, and most other major neutral factions were busy repairing the world or taking advantage of resources and the chaos, and it makes sense why Pandaria wasn't truly revealed for a long time.

"If I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all."
Fun fact: Pandas are Deathwing's biggest weakness.
If he would have encountered the Pandaran, he would have instantly turned into a lovable dragon obsessed with his "cuddlies".
random question. why do all the alliance skyships have sky in the front? its kind of odd. horde side the name theirs after heroes.

The Skyfire did NOT crash. As Alliance, it is how we reach Pandaria for the first time. The ship that did crash is known as the Alliance flagship, the Vanguard, it is not an airship. The ship was under the command of Admiral Taylor (formerly Captain Taylor from Vash'jir) who can be seen in the cinematic opening.
Deathwing's final attempt to destroy Azeroth, the second Cataclysm (this is during the encounter at the Maelstrom), is what caused the mists to dissipate. After these events, the Alliance and Horde took notice of this new continent and sent their respective ships. Anduin was the diplomat in this case aboard the Vanguard.
The rest is as you know it; the Vanguard ran into the Horde ship led by Nazgrim and the ships crashed on Pandaria. Varian ordered the Alliance members to take the Skyfire to Pandaria and find Anduin. I'm sure the Horde have a similar story with theirs.
Also, just to nit-pick what Flalia wrote, wanna tell me how the only horde airship that crashed in Dragonblight when Deathwing tore it in half (see cut scene) ends up not only in the ocean (as it was torn apart above land), but passes the Maelstrom (Northrend to Pandaria) without getting sucked in and then proceeds to a southern continent (out of the blue, defying the current of the Maelstrom) somehow crashes the Skyfire, the airship that just saved pretty much everyone, all the mean time the prince was on this ship (as he was on Pandaria)? That's not even close to what happened XD

the cataclysm broke the magic that made the mist make the island go poof.
it took awhile for the mist to clear up. mist doesnt just go away in a flash it takes awhile.
In the MoP cinematic when the orcs and human were fighting there was still mist. so it just finished clearing up at the end of it.

Bolded for pointing out the obvious.
Also:
Funny thing about Alpha/Beta. They're not canon, things are subject to change. The subject of this article was removed from World of Warcraft in patch 5.0.4.
This includes items and quests that can no longer be obtained.
The in-game information in this article is kept purely for historical purposes and should probably not be under any other categories.
I wonder how Master Cheng, the High Elf Monk, ended up in Pandaria.
The Mists parted because Shaohao realized his mistake in using his Pride to separate his people from the rest of the world.
Pandaria needed the outside world to come to them and help them deal with those things they buried under the earth because Pandaria was incapable of dealing with it themselves.
Soothing Mist:"Healing them for a minor amount every 0.5 sec, until you take any other action."
Jade Serpent Statue: "The statue will also begin casting Soothing Mist on your target. healing for 50% as much as yours. "
[What's half of minor?]
"Statue casts Soothing Mist at a nearby ally for toddler healing."
Except Doomhammer had no help from humans in breaking away from the legion. It's explained very clearly in the books that not only was doomhammers goal to lead an honorable horde without corruption - but also that he would've been directly successful if not for gul'dan.
