We also know that when a Naaru get's towards the end of it's life force it transforms into a void creature like the one M'uru is(Although M'urus transformation was forced due the the efforts of the blood elves).
We also know that eventually after being in this state naturally they will transform back into the Naaru they were from the start after absorbing enough souls.

As Krekko stated, darkened Naaru is shadow to light, meaning they are opposites. But the Naaru have a deeper understanding of what this actually means and they could teach us(the player characters) in the quest line how this works, in the end giving us full understanding of how the light meets the dark(?) and what makes them both the same.

Also, a short story about where shadow priests came from:
"Natalie Seline was a bishop from Lordaeron that, after the First War, began to delve into workings of the orc necrolytes who had poured through the Dark Portal and desecrated their hallowed dead. While at first this was done in order to provide Azeroth with the knowledge it needed to fight against such dark magic, her studies over the years became increasingly obsessed with finding out why such dark energies existed at all, and why she began to see the ebb and flow of such energies in the world around her. She began preaching about the necessity of balance between dark and light, but after her death, her books were locked away in the Kirin Tor's vaults in Dalaran

The Cult of the Forgotten Shadow was created through the (re)discovery of her teachings by Forsaken priests in Lordaeron after the capture and refurbishing of the Undercity."

Quote from the Naaru D'ore in game "Without the void, the Light cannot exist." hinting at a clear relation between the two (nothing new of course)

Why would it be impossible for paladins to wield the shadow if priests can do it? They only need to learn how to use it. Also, the light can be used to heal but also harm, so why wouldn't the shadow be able to harm but also heal, if they are complete opposites?
Because it goes against the lore. STAHP IT ALREADY. Priest can use Shadow but if purely a Holy priest used shadow they stop using the Light. The relation is that they are polar opposite. So stop it already JUST STOP!!!!!!

Shadow Knight works better but hey they're the neglected class(Lorewise, they stopped being useful since Wrath ><_|)

I hope they don't make it a transmog set, maybe a cool weapon, like a choice between mace / axe / sword, but an armor set would be obtained by every single Paladin and thus bland and run-of-the-mill.

In the spirit of providing suggestions too, it'd be cool to do a new quest line in Draenor that rewarded you with an updated pally horse model, like you have to tame some primal / ancient / dire horse native to Draenor and it becomes your light infused steed.

Edit: if it were the weapon choice I'd recommend that also be light infused and have some occasional lightbringer inspired effect.

To put it simply, this wouldn't work, because unlike green fire, you'd have to change the entire dynamics of the class, and essentially it "breaks" lore. You'd be writing new lore, new spell dynamics *and* spell animations.

You're asking, in essence for a totally different class. Shadow priests didn't "turn" their back on the light, but they do not utilize it in many, if any way, the light stopped responding to their beckoning. Now, the way Paladins utilize the light, that would mean that the light would forsake the Paladin, and in turn, require them (blizzard) to rework everything. Sure you could add "Dark Judgement" and "Shadow Strike" and other such spells, but at the core, it abandons what Paladin's are like.

As a Paladin (in lore) we do recognize the need for the shadow, but we do not delve into it. We're the ones, on the other side, who maintain the balance of the Light. We'll let the Warlocks and Shadow Priests find themselves on the other side. We stand strong with the light.

Light and Shadow are like Death and Life, one can't exist without the other, however you're either one, or the other. You cross that line, and you're past it.

I'm sure we'll see more "philosophical" looks at Paladin's and the light come WoD, but I highly doubt that we'd see this.

I'd be fine with a personal Aura. But yes. plenty of Paladin's with it pulsing would be overkill.

Something more personal or on CD would be awesome though, like Tyrael wings.

For Prot you could have an upgraded GoAK model, or, you turn into a guardian of some sort too. Holy? IDK, they can have something too.

    Librams should be baseline though.

Grand Crusader. Such a great title for such few people. A man can dream.... a man can dream.

If they ever released a NA server brand new, I'd stay up until I hit 80 and got that damn title.

If they gave the paladin a choice between a mace, axe, or sword, it would make your sword ~2/3 less frequent in the community and thus ~2/3 times cooler

Honestly I think the librams are the only thing that it could reward unless they are going to have specific looks for each of the Paladin races, as other than possibly Human and Dwarf the other races have very distinctive looks that wouldn't look right with, for example, a cool looking mace or WC3-style armor.

I would love to get a libram to show off, racial-specific (Blood Knight, Sunwalker,
Hand of Argus, Silver Hand,) armor would rock too.

Fel, even a racial weapon would be good...

Don't get me wrong I'd love race-specific armor, but there's about as much chance of that as there is 40-man raids coming back. The "green fire" thing worked because it was universal to all Warlocks, no matter their race, so I'd guess any kind of class quest would have to be the same kind of deal.

Paladins don't seem to really have that much that could have a decent effect without either being not noticeable (e.g. you constantly shine with the light, Tabard of the Lightbringer style), conflict with other abilities (e.g. Tyrael-like wings for non-Prot), or not make sense (e.g. "Anti-Paladin/Dark Paladin" shadowy effects). Even librams though wouldn't fit that well because the libram at the hip is mostly a Silver Hand thing; while Vindicators and Blood Knights could have that, it wouldn't fit Sunwalkers in the lore.
