After all the lagging, disconnecting and queueing, I almost made it to 100. Then I randomly desync from the server and whenever I try to login... "A character with that name already exists".

I've been doing that for the past half hour. The character will not go offline.

WoW has never been "bug free" at any point in its lifetime.

I've done my share of queuing. (over 24 hours of queues in total with multiple DCs while in queue only to have to restart the queue).

This is something best ticketed to a GM through the site or another character you can log into.
