    Do you vote?

Simple question, do you Vote? Don't have to say for who or anything just whether or not you vote and during which period you usually vote if applicable.

Personally I have never voted in my life but I know that for the next election I definitely will, after reading an article about how the majority of Canadians live under a Government they didn't vote for. To me that screams problem that at this point I can only mandatory voting as the solution for. I would be interesting in hearing other suggestions to motivate people to vote as well if anyone has some.

My parents vote for me, because my ballots still go to their house (We vote by mail here). I just don't care enough, I think the whole fucking political system here needs to be removed and redone.

Yes, and I verbally abuse those that don't.

It's illegal not to here so yes, I vote. I'd also vote if it wasn't. I follow politics closely and comment on them often, I'd be a hypocrite if I played no part in the process.

That being said I always vote by mail because I hate be accosted by the people outside the booths.

    I'm 25-years-old and I've voted a total of 4 times.

    American General Election 2008
    Chicago Mayoral Election 2010
    American Midterm Election 2010
    American General Election 2012

I plan to vote this year as well, and I don't see myself dropping that habit anytime soon.

We had an electoral duty until a few years ago, but it eventually was abolished.
That said, of course I vote. Since I'm allowed to, and whenever there is an election.

It is usually illegal to cast a vote for somebody else without a power of attorney letter.

    I vote.

Yes. If you aren't participating in the system, you don't have much room to complain about where it ends up going.

Congrats on having parents who commit election fraud, I guess?

Seriously, that's like, really big-time illegal, and you should probably tell them to stop.

Sometimes, but mostly 'meh'. Yeah, yeah, democratic duty and whatnot. Our representatives are going to be in office 'til the day they die no matter what I do, so shmeh.

You're fined here in Australia if you don't vote. So yes.

Funnily enough the political parties I've voted for have never won!

    Yes because it's compulsory here.

If it wasn't then fuck no.

What if none of the major political parties represent your views?

Always. Even if I don't like anyone running, someone is going to be less offensive. The key to change at the top is to participate in the elections at the bottom. Make big changes there and it will move up the line over time.

I'm not voting for my utopia, I'm voting for who best represents my interests for the next term.

But then, I'm Canadian, and we aren't nearly as dedicated to our parties as the US is; we regularly have election results that completely overturn the status quo. People say "third party" derisively in the US, but the NDP (one of our biggest "third parties" for the past few decades) became the official minority party last federal election, mostly as left-wing voters delivered a giant steaming cup of "fuck you" to the Liberal Party.

Now, if I were a fascist communist autocrat, maybe there wouldn't be a party I could vote for that even begins to represent my interests, but I'm a liberal market socialist, and there's plenty of overlap there.

This is also true. If the system were different, I might be more willing to spare a damn about voting. The compulsory round-robin-tournament the Australians have, on the other hand, frankly scares the everliving shit out of me.
