The latest from CCP's legendary cinematics team, this new clip just keep reaffirming what fans have been telling CCP to do for years: they should make movies.

making a film would take the team away from EvE

With all the lens flares and explosion, I think JJ Abrams should make a movie on Eve lore (it's quite good written and deep).

But anyway, CCP is the second company after Blizz who creates outstanding CGI trailers that have nothing to do with an actual gameplay

I would love to se more adult oriented animations. The few already made have not been of very good quality imo.
Blur Studio who made cinematics to SWTOR, Wildstar and Elder Scrolls among others, are planning a feature length animated movie with zombies, monsters and evil scientists. ( https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...rt-this-sucker )
They could not raise support from the big Hollywood production companies so they made a Kickstarter campaign raising 400.000 dollars. 400k will just be enough to cover a rough story reel (a story board with music, voiceovers and such) which hopefully will make the Hollywood producers interested.
It shows how difficult it is to raise money to animated movies without talking animals and songs and such.

This. I suppose the reasoning is that if it's going to be a CGI movie, then it's for kids, because adults want live action with sex and decapitations and f-words every ten seconds.

Still, seeing how incredibly rich in lore EVE universe is, and the fact that CCP has some 750k+ fans, they could easily make a profit off of making feature length films on the IP (In all reality, a live action EVE film would probably never happen, but a CGI EVE film done by the same team that did the trailer's for Trinity, Dominion, Rubicon, etc, could almost certainly make a film that would be just as good).

Also, perhaps Bethesda should try to do a CGI film for their ES franchise, seeing how live action game-to-movie films almost never work. (The Warcraft movie will have very high chance to succeed because it is one of gaming's strongest IPs of all time, has a huge audience, and the people producing the film are actually passionate about it).
