Why on earth would they sent the FBI? The FBI is for internal affairs, it's the CIA that handles international stuff.

Why not send in soldiers instead? Ones trained in hostage rescue?

I imagine they are sending in the FBI so the help will be better received and Nigeria doesn't see it as a power grab, sending in the CIA or military generally means more to come. Originally Posted by Zethras

CIA is agent stuff. FBI is police. So they are probably helping the local police with the investigation.
