Turns out, Tbc raiding wouldn't have allowed you to keep them anyway. Only top notch guilds worked with 1 maybe 2 short after completion. This is why very few guilds could sell t6 pieces.
There's something you're not understanding here, at all. When the recruit is in blues and/or greens and the guild is largely in the gear from the tier they've been running for over a year - when they've run the same heroics and boss kills over and over again until it's all ingrained in muscle memory - it doesn't matter how good the recruit is. He's going to get carried.

And this wouldn't matter so much to the people doing the carrying if it weren't for the fact that their efforts were dust in the goddamn wind, and the little turd skips away to greener pastures under the delusion that he did all the lifting.

    Why are you recruiting them?

Although I haven't done any of these attunements since I only started playing end TBC/begin wotlk, I do remember some of the smaller "attunements" like class quests to unlock druid shapeshift forms and I believe a few dungeons where you required a key.

IMO attunements are great. They make the content feel worthwhile and make the journey feel like an adventure. Maybe some attunements were worse (specifically the ones that required you to grind a lot), but others like the SSC attunements seem proper.

Nowadays, especially later in the expansion, people just skip 90% of the max level content right into the current end content. Blizzards excuse was 'because people weren't seeing the end content'.

Sure, people can skip to end content immediately because of catch up gear, but meanwhile they're missing out on a ton of content because of it. Also, I don't consider LFR real content since it's a watered down raid experience.

Currently IMO the game just feels watered down. There's nothing exciting left to be done. The only content left is raiding and PvP. Which on themselves is OK, but not when you can literally hop into them on the day you hit 90.

I'm glad those got removed and the idealogy from Blizzard also changed regarding attunements along those lines.

I'm all for doing some attunements such as doing all heroic 5 mans before being able to do a raid or something but the BC ones cuased many a guild falling apart.

Anyone remember when BT attunement looked like this? http://web.archive.org/web/200704061.../btattunement/

    • Hero's Call: Defeat all end-bosses in heroic dungeons in Outland within 10 min of each other.
    • The Illidari Invasion: A major attack is launched on all major cities, both Horde and Alliance. Repel the invadors for 6 hours or lose the chance to face down Illidan in the Black Temple for one month.

Pay specific attention to Hero's Call: Defeat all end-bosses in heroic dungeons in Outland within 10 min of each other.

And The Illidari Invasion: A major attack is launched on all major cities, both Horde and Alliance. Repel the invadors for 6 hours or lose the chance to face down Illidan in the Black Temple for one month.

Yes, I know. They should have made it real for a week, just to see how many would actually try it. Maybe not the Illidari Invasion part.
