    [A] icecream 25man 2d/week fri/sat 13/14 HC

During Throne of Thunder icecream started raiding 4 days a week as a 10-man guild. We struggled to have enough players to raid and had issues with our setup. We had no real good applications which made it difficult to replace and improve our weak spots. This led in very slow progress and not killing Lei Shen at a reasonable time. Whatever, 25-guild Auchindoun, was struggling with finishing the tier and approached icecream for a possible merge. This was discussed for a few days. We've decided to merge with Whatever and join their ranks.

A small group of former icecream members who have been raiding in ToT kept in touch outside of the game. This is where we got the idea to alt raid Siege of Orgrimmar when Blizzard announced it’s release. We filled the spots with friends and people we knew from other guilds. We've managed to clear normal the first week. This was not done in two days. We've spend 16 hours in siege the first week. The following week we wanted to continue this raid. People however had obligations to their main guilds so we've decided to raid Friday & Saturdays starting at 20:00. As we started to progress we found out alt raiding with members having experience on bosses from their main runs helped us out reducing the amount of wipes.

At a certain point the raid was more serious than a mere alt raid and we decided to start raiding under one banner. This is how icecream weekend raiding was formed. The transition from alt raid to a guild group is not a big change itself. It does require to get a few essentials, forums, voicecom, stable raiding hours, recruitment topics & updated wowprogress. This was done swiftly and we started to get some interest from possible recruits.

Having two raiding days in a week requires more from it’s members to achieve progress. Firstly people need to have a quicker learning curve than your average 4 day-a-week hardcore raiding guild. Simply said having half the hours should take half the pulls to kill a boss. Secondly attendance requirements are a lot higher. You don’t want to raid with a bigger roster to avoid having more people show when there are limited spots and hours. The few trials we had during our 10-man raids understood this and helped us grow.

When Warlords of Dreanor was announced it became clear we wanted to raid mythic. Being short more than a few members the plan is was to raid 25-man before WoD hits. This allowed us to start building a raiding core which we will expand during Warlords. We've managed to recruit enough people to make the switch to 25-man raiding and are currently progressing SoO with a newly forged team

Our guild philosophy is to raid for progress. No one member is more important than the guild overall. We expect very high attendance and level of play for the 8-hours we’re raiding. We believe that raid leading and guild leading is not a one man job. Group dynamic is very important and allows players to excel and forces a better understanding of boss fights. We’re not holding anyone’s hand. In regards to item distribution we believe in loot council. Members of this council are trusted to get the right item in the right place. This generally puts healers at the bottom of the list and the best DPS classes at the top.

The goal for what’s remaining is to kill Garrosh heroic and continue building a core for WoD. For WoD it will be to clear content at a very fast pace. Keep providing a good environment for people interested in weekend raiding for alt or main characters.

    Recruitment is currently open for:
    Balance Druid
    Restoration Druid
    Shadow Priest
    Discipline Priest
    Fury Warrior
    Retribution Paladin
    Holy Paladin
    Exceptional applicants.
