Is this Ebay PC worth it?

    Ok just found this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Intel-Core...item232c915751

Yes i know the case looks like crap, and the PSU is not the most reliable and having over 1600mhz ram makes no difference. Also that there is no graphics card (well there is internal)

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But is this PC worth it for £503?

I would be buying a GTX 760 to put into it.

What i want the system for:

The system needs to be able to play WoW in a 25man setting without dropping to stupidly low FPS, also wanted the GTX 760 for shadowplay and recording as i hear it works very good compared to fraps what can be a resource hog.

If anyone can find something cheaper let me know. I actually have no need for the SSD, HDD, OS, DVD-RW as i have plenty of these laying around.

well im no expert, and i dont know how pc's are there in the UK price wise, but to ME, that sounds way over priced. your basically getting a 120gig ssd (which is good to run some games on, but your gonna need ANOTHER hard drive to store your actuall OS and everything else on) 8 gigs of ram (which looks decent). your power supply is only a 600watt (which is fine), and an i5. all the things it comes with are pretty cheap really. ive seen complete computers similar to that here in the states for like $400-500
keep in mind your still going to need to buy your OS (windows or w/e you want to use) probably a regular hard drive with a decent size thats not SSD, and w/e graphics card you want.

TLDR: i wouldnt, the cost doesnt seem to justify what your getting imo.

    That price is 503 pounds
Factor in GTX 760 on Amazon UK price = 170 pounds

Total = 673 pounds and you said yourself you don't need SSD/HDD/OS so some of the money is wasted on that system...

Lets see a system that'll give similar performance if we built it ourself, shall we?

Less expensive, more reliable (especially the PSU), and includes a good cooler so you can over clock!

So no, the ebay one is not worth it

I was using that same case until a few months ago and from my experience with it I can tell you that not only does it look like crap, it is crap.

The front panel mic jack broke a few months after I got it, 3 of the fans that come with it run off molex connections and are uncomfortably loud, the construction quality is "meh" at best and there is very little room internally given it's size. That made cable management a pain and the last straw came only about six months after I started using it when I upgraded my GPU and it was too long to fit.

Your first mistake is trying to buy anything legit from ebay, its usually 2nd hand or stolen stuff or stuff that generally doesnt work. Or refurbished which works for about a month and then caputt!

Problems: Not a K series cpu so you can't overclock it, only one stick of RAM so no dual channel which means it's slower, the case is even worse then on that ebay machine and it includes SSD, HDD and dvd drive which OP said are a waste for him.

I probably should have mentioned there are many customisation options including a range of cases (all more expensive than the one I picked) and CPUs. Didn't notice the it wasn't a K model and that it was a single stick of RAM. Perhaps a better choice would be to get a 4GB stick with the machine and add another 4GB stick for the learning experience

I added the SSD, HDD and disk drive to provide easy price comparison to the ebay model. Also because I didn't read the last part of the OP.

But then only when you know which type of Kingston 8GB DDR3 RAM it is. You know, so that it'll work.
