    BlizzCon 2014! Who is attending?

My fiance and I were lucky enough to score a pair of tickets for this years BlizzCon. We're hoping to make some friends in game and get to know a few people that we might be able to hang out with during blizzcon. We're currently on Mal'Ganis Horde but open to the idea of playing some alts on another realm to meet new people that are attending. I look forward to making some new acquaintances not only in game but also in RL.

I'd love to go to Blizzcon but it's too expensive for someone outside of USA, atleast without plenty of disposable income.
Probably running on a Pentium 4

Yeah, I agree. We live in the US and it's still expensive. We're starting to put some funds aside for the whole trip. Thinking it's going to be around 3k for the whole trip including blizzcon tickets.

I've gone to almost all of the Blizzcons but this will be my second year not going. I'll be playing in WoD but I don't see any reason to go. Nothing new or exciting. Maybe that rumored new game announcement? I dunno, nothing really pushing me to go.

Aren't the goody bags pretty sweet though? Every year I hear people getting stuff I wish I had. If they threw in a few beta keys for upcoming games/expansions that would be nice too.

Not for me, sounds like a waste of money. I actually don't see a reason to be there in the first place

    I'm way too cheap to pay 1000 € for a 2 day-trip.

I'll be there in spirit! Or maybe by virtual ticket if I can scrape up the dollars.

Bought a ticket to go spend a weekend with almost my entire guild who got tickets as well, but considering selling the ticket. Likely won't be any real big news this time around and raid team on the verge of falling apart thanks to 14 months of Siege.

IMO the biggest draw is just having a chance to meet up IRL with the people you spend so much time with in-game, and maybe even meet some new people. I'm as bummed about the long wait for WoD as anybody, but I'm still excited to see my friends again

I really want to go someday, but the airplane ticket from Denmark alone is brutal..
So Ill probably get a virtual ticket again, that was so much fun last year.
Someday in the future I will definitely make sure to go!

Well thats all pending next months performance in Hearthstone..... oh wait no; definitely not going

Might actually get the directv ticket and put it on the big screen this year, GF actually showed an interest in the costume and dance contest last year

Chiquihuite, do you guys mostly play on Proudmoore? I'm excited about going. Initially I was worried about how much the total cost would be but we've never been and it's like taking a mini vacation especially if you're traveling from the midwest to the west coast

    @Aculla:

Most of my in-game friends originated on Cenarius, but we've largely scattered around now. Luckily we can still play together thanks to the whole cross-realm battletag thing.

And yeah if you have time and spare funds, it's easy to convert Blizzcon into a full-blown vacation. I mean Disneyland is within walking distance of the convention center. A lot of people stay a couple days before/after the con just for that. Plus you have plenty of beaches within 20 miles, and LA like 30ish miles to the north. Lots to see and do if you're so inclined.

    What is lucky about that?

Mod-note: Please stick to the topic. There's no need to take a jab at people enjoying the convention.

    Do virtual tickets count?

Honestly, I'd love to go; but sadly, it's both expensive, AND constantly landing on
important dates that I can't miss. =/ Someday though... I can't wait to meet people
who enjoy this stuff even more than I do for once.

iceberg265, I meant lucky because I heard that they sell out fairly fast. We were on the ticketing site minutes before they went live and when they were available we immediately clicked on buy but got stuck in a queue and later told that they were sold out. After about 10 minutes of continuous page refreshing and purchase attempts we were able to score 2 tickets. So yes, we were lucky

Pretty much. As much as I'd like to have attented, the flight alone would have cost me more than 1.000€ - add everything else + the price of the tickets to it, and it would have been quite expensive.
Going to stick with the livestream.

I was pessimistic about getting tickets after the first sale date, but I ended up scoring them the second day.

    So, me.
