    Video editor

    I am completely new to video editing and I am looking for software that would allow me to merge several videos into one cut out some part and and maybe throw in a picture slideshow somewhere in there. Is there any software you could recommend me? ( opensource/free would be best)

    Start from Windows Movie Maker and see if that's enough for you. Most opensource/free video editors for windows are rather bad.

    Lightworks is something new I havent tried before, came out in last year or two. Maybe give that a try?
