Do you know signatories of their last ceasefire deal? Does it include US or EU?
There are also gas talks with EU-Russia-Ukraine on September 26... winter is coming and all.
And postponing of free trade from EU - the only thing we actually opposed in Association deal.

Tymoshenko was jailed after what the US and EU members called a trial with "selective justice".

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yulia_Tymoshenko

The trial against Tymoshenko has been referred to as "selective justice" and "political persecution" in statements by the U.S.A, Russia, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain and other European countries; in statements by the European Union, NATO, the European People's Party; and in statements by human rights organizations such as Transparency International, Freedom House, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.[306] Following her conviction, Tymoshenko remained under criminal investigation for ten criminal acts;[296] Ukrainian prosecutors have claimed Tymoshenko committed even more criminal acts.

So they believe her trial was unjust and wanted her freed.

What I had posted was the actual beginning to the entire crisis in Ukraine. Yours was a personal opinion of the matter.
Maidan was the will of "some" people actually. The civil war that ensued is a testament to the divisions inside Ukraine itself.
Julia timoshenko is a rotten corrupt oligarch and one of the figures responsible for this mess. Please read up more about her.

What you posted is what I posted. You didn't counter my point, you described it under a different point of view, but the core point that a minority of opposition has successfully managed to push their point of view undemocratically under the impression that a EU trade deal would "fix it all", doesn't change.
    This is maidan.

A-a-and... Ukraine introduces Capital Controls (google translate):

    ZeroHedge on this:
A few days ago we showed how when Obama said there would be "costs" for Moscow in the Ukraine-Russian conflict, he got the recipient country of said costs woefully wrong, as confirmed by the economic data released by Ukraine which showed its Industrial Production crater at a pace on par with the Lehman collapse, confirming the Ukraine economy was on the verge of a spectacular implosion just in time for the harsh, Gazprom-free winter to finish off what little economic activity is left.

The resulting selloff in the Hryvnia and Ukraine bonds, was therefore, hardly surprising.

Which probably means the news reported by Bloomberg moments ago, which cites Ukraine's Unian news service, that the Ukraine central bank just instituted restrictions on Hryvnia use, i.e., capital controls, should also not come as a surprise, yet for all those expecting Russia to crater first under the weight of western sanctions, to see said cratering take place in western-backed (and IMF guaranteed) Ukraine is probably just a little unpleasant.

    The details:

Central Bank forbids companies completing FX payments on import contracts if they don’t actually bring goods into Ukraine, Unian reports, citing Central Bank decree that comes into effect tomorrow.

FX payments on imports also prohibited if customs registration of goods takes more than 180 days
Foreign investors forbidden to receive investment return from selling Ukraine securities beyond stock exchange, except govt bonds
Foreign investors forbidden to receive dividend return on Ukrainian shares not traded in stock exchanges
Central bank also forbids FX transactions using individual FX licenses, except placing money by cos. on accounts in foreign banks

In other words, the money concentration into a select few government-approved (and controlled) asset classes has begun. For those who are unsure what happens next, please google "Cyprus and March 2013."

US has started bombing targets in Syrian ground. This is an outrageous violation of the UN charter. Hopefully UNSC pulls their heads out of uncle Sam ass and stop this.

Interested to see what Russia's reaction on this would be. I have a feeling that their A/A system sales will go up tenfold, for some reason in the next few days.

UNSC will do nothing, get over it.

Russian AA has never kept the US out, or anyone else for that matter.

Sounds like it a full court press, fighters, bombers, and TLAMs. Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE are reported as assisting.

No, as in Russian/Soviet AA defenses have never prevented the opposition from gaining air superiority.

True but an older system has shot down that b2 bomber. Plus s300 are the best a/a system only second to s400. Short range wise is the Russian pantsir. There is no competition really. If syria wants it bring the house down. Americans know that and they have warn them too =)

A SA-6 was used to bring down a F-117, not a B-2. Israel and NATO have both extensively studied the S-300 and have reported that they know how to counter it.

One F-117 was shot down during its entire combat history of flying into the most defended airspaces attacked by the US.

The only B2 EVER lost was due to a glitch on takeoff.

It can't even be accurately radar locked for a period of time.

Well, Russia has their chance at them, and F-22s.

Can argue with you guys, you watch way too many movies.

And Russia doesn't have any chance, its Syria.
