Crusader weapon: Jace's Hammer of Vigilance

Is this a good weapon? I mean sure it increases the size of the hammer. But does that mean it has a huge hitbox? Or does that mean the hammers are hitting harder?

I am asking because I am not seeing any benefit. I used this weapon and haven't found anything that proves to me that this isn't just purely cosmetic.
