    Father's day ideas

Hello all! I thought we could post some resources on picking out some gifts for our dad's on Father's day.

I found some pretty awesome ideas at Gift Ideas For Dad, like putting out a nerf gun with a note attached to it declaring a family nerf war against your dad haha.

    What are some other ideas?

Get good beer, make bacon, make yourself scarce, dad is happy.

A card to remind him you exist. Though that might not be a good thing, who knows.

Most "gifts for dads" (or mothers etc) are just gimmicks, get a laugh, forget about it in 10 minutes.

I remember Amazon having the Kindle as the perfect gift for mothers day (and fathers day, and easter and christmas etc). Since when do people drop a hundred notes on something for fathers day. A card and some sweets or something small.

Might sound a bit grumpy/anti commercialismy but I just don't see the point

It's the hand made gifts that're the best.

It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shakes, the shakes become a warning.

As a single father to a young son, I personally stand by handmade things. They only have sentimental value, but unless what my son bought for me when he got older had some kind of deeper meaning (a guy I grew up with paid a lot to get the body of a well preserved chevy step side up to his dads place since it was the first vehicle his dad ever owned) it would be appreciated but not the same.

Also you're wrong, the people who agree with you are wrong, and you're probably ugly.
Ever been so angry at everyone on the internet you tell a woman she is mansplaining?

    Heh, that's a cute idea.

I'll prob just give him some food-type goodies and a card, similar do what I did for my mom. Money is tight this year so can't do a whole lot, though he retires Friday and I'm also in the process of making him a cool t-shirt in celebration of that.

If she's young enough and in good enough shape, make mom burst out of a cake as a sort of stripper gram, followed by lap dance. That's what mine did to my dad once.

Don't get me anything, spend the money on yourself.

At the very most, make bacon and biscuits and gravy.

A small scrapbook of all the things I've been up to in the past year, such as trips and such. And a reminder of what Fathers Day is and why he's getting it.

When I was living at home I used to get him a gift certificate to a nice restaurant for him and my mom. That way it would get them out of the house for the evening, and it would be all mine.

I haven't seen my dad more than one year. Miss him.
I will call him tonight and let him know I love him so much. I think that's the best gift.
