Why the sexist poll, why can't i be a hot guy robot?
If the brain remained intact somehow sure, if the mind is copied so i die, nothanks. Or maybe when i'm old anyway.
Yes
No
Only if it's a hot young girl model

As others have said, you'd be killing yourself to make a robot that thinks it's you. So no, of course I wouldn't.
Today's science can already transfer touch sensations from prosthetics so enjoying sex as a robot is around the corner. And since you're robot now, you can "inject" yourself with software that emulates alcohol, sex or any other sensation, experiencing wildest nirvanas.
The question should rather be: Would you sacrifice your life to offer immortality to somebody else? Think star trek teleporters, with the robot being a copy of your consciousness and all.
Almost 100% of your body is completely replaced every 5 years or so. It does leave out a small percentage though, which may or may not be vital in keeping you fully "intact" for a transfer into a robot.
But if I was on my deathbed with nothing to lose, how could I say no?
"In order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must be intolerant of intolerance." Paradox of tolerance
You saw the bloody title, DO NOT comment or click on it if you are not interested.
as for OP, yes, if its possible I want it to happen, I will transfer my conciousness into another medium.

I would like to add my roomate also brought up the point that EVEN OUR BRAINS go through this process, sure the neurons persist, but the organelles within it are recycled.
Do you want to turn yourself into a robot - Yes or No?
Sorry, couldn't help it.
Also, obvious answer is no. Pleasure of any kind is just data. If it can't be emulated, there's something wrong with the Algorithm and I shall wait until they get their act together. (I don't feel like flashing myself with a firmware update later)
So deprive yourself of any and all pleasures of the flesh, then trap yourself in metal shell where your conscious mind having known what these pleasures are (e.i. Ice Cream, Lovemaking, A1 Steak Sauce and satisfaction from Games and Movies) know that they are are forever beyond your reach for all eternity....
Hell No.
Why can't a robot have touchy-feely sensors? Then you could be a robot yet enjoy the benefits of sex or foreplay.
No, I wouldn't. Neither do I want to live forever, nor do I want to lose some of the human traits.
I believe it should be added that since WoW doesn't allow programmable keyboards, or automation of that sort, you will be forbidden from ever playing WoW.
Depends on the kind of robot, if it looks like a 1960's Sci-fi robot you can forget it, if it is a killer robot with a missile launcher and rending claws count me in.
Yes but only if I get to keep emotions because I want to be able to still care about the things and people I care now.
That was like literally the first thing that came to my mind when reading the thread title. "Will I be able to have sex? Oh and food and drink I guess"
Answer is no, why would I want to live forever if I can't enjoy the pleasures of life? Gathering knowledge is fun, but gets pretty boring if you can't have a wank every once and while.
Agreed - if you can transfer consciousness into a machine brain, you should be able to edit pleasure responses to match the actions that are beneficial to your survival (ie. sex, food, drink).
An interesting extension of this would be - once we are able to do so - what actions would you assign pleasure responses to, for a post-human / cyborg. You could do weird things with that technology. You could make everyone love their job for one - cleaning public toilets could be made to be your form of masturbation. Students could be re-programmed during their education to have an orgasmic response to learning math and physics.
Now, the social implications of doing that are also interesting - you are denying some degree of agency by altering our brain chemistry (or machine consciousness) in this way. Which means it should only be done with consent, and should probably have some condition for when such conditions cease to apply so that you can think about your life and goals objectively - without sneaking off to look up kinky math porn - or break into the park washrooms at night and give them a good hard scrub.
Reflecting back on how that influences society today - it could be the case that as our brains have become increasingly complex and forward-thinking over the eons, we have lost or diminished the effect of serotonin and dopamine on our brain - to allow us to take actions beyond just sex, bananas, and throwing feces at each other because we find it funny (a very loose hypothesis that could use research. Alternately - the correlation between genius and crippling depression might be the result of a reduced hedonistic enjoyment of life (via the response to dopamine and serotonin) - allowing them to spend their life contemplating and cultivating bigger topics than sex, pastries, and video games.
"In life, I was raised to hate the undead. Trained to destroy them. When I became Forsaken, I hated myself most of all. But now I see it is the Alliance that fosters this malice. The human kingdoms shun their former brothers and sisters because we remind them what's lurking beneath the facade of flesh. It's time to end their cycle of hatred. The Alliance deserves to fall." - Lilian Voss
