Russians linked with EU realms

As you all know this is a problem for alot of players and you guys are probably sick to death of seeing these posts but I just wanted to make a poll thread to see what people ACTUALLY think about this.

I for one am against it because I do not know Cyrillic and therefor blizzard has just thrown a foreign language against English speaking players. This is not the only problem however, Russians are known for being cheaters and botters and I have yet to meet a team of them that don't bot or cheat in some way. I play a SP as my main with 40 - 44 Latency home and world yet my Cascade + Halo get interrupted? It is always against Russians that this happens and I am getting so tired of it.

This for me is just proving that Blizzard do not give a s**t about what the customer thinks, there has been endless threads about this problem yet nothing has been done about it.

I know it is not all Russians as I have met a good few but tbh I would rather have it back the old ways and have longer queue times than play against people that I can actually pronounce who to go on. A certain player base should not have an advantage over another in RBGs because there is confusion on who to target...

e.g. Russian side has 2 priests both specced Holy, "Go on the priest! ... Eh, what one? The Healer/Holy/Top one/Bottom one" ... Too late.

That scenario should in no way ever be able to happen, yet due to blizzard not listening to the community it can.

I agree that Russian players should play with/against other Russians since we have our own battlegroup (even 2) in terms of communication/naming/Cyrillic.

Otherwise I have nothing against them in terms of bots and cheats, since all my parties sucked soooo much. (I'm PVE player doing ToK and Mines for legendary, but I have 5 pieces of pvp tier 15). And 99% of time my parties were rolfstomped by EU and RU player without big of a difference, they were simply more organised and know what to do.

That's what I mean I don't want to stereotype ALL Russians as botters and hackers etc because I know that is simply not true and most of them are very decent players, it is the language barrier that has been set there by blizzard for unknown reasons that I have an issue with. Russian players should not need to learn English to play the game and English players should not need to learn Cyrillic to play too.

They are against you. Not same team. So there's no language problem (untill someone in your team doesn't invite someone from RU-realm).

Its the premades that are the problem (with some interrupt hacking, lag and stuff)
Either mix them up with the rest of europe so no more full russian groups, and not more than a group of 3 you can queue with, or put them back to their own servers.
And bliz must do something so we can read the names, nobody can read that shit in europe, doesnt blizzard understand this that the rest of europe cant read it?

I don't care aboute russian players, but I do care about their latency. I HATE fighting russians because they're all laggy fucks and I presume non-russians or those who live further away from russian players also seem like laggy fucks to them. It's incredibly frustrating that I can't reach my (russian) opponent when he has a freedom effect on himself.

It's literally fucking impossible and it's really annoying and frustrating.

If you don't know the language and you came up against a chinese team with chinese writing and they had 3 priest healers all specced holy, could you easily tell people what person to go on? no didn't think so. Same scenario here. That is language problems.

Well from the first hand experience I have everytime a face a russian team? Have you seen the Ladders being exploited? Have you seen the videos of proof of this happening?

You can try /assist etc but you shouldn't need to rely on that function, that is a communication barrier that is not in place because of us.


I am also seeing people posting problems that I never mentioned, Are you going to say that is all in there imagination too? No one is saying it is the Russian players directly (Cause most of them have done nothing wrong) but Blizzard is the ones at fault here and need to address the problems that from the poll you can clearly see it is a majority of people.

Russians disproportionately use bots in arena.

Russians cause terrible cross-BG movement lag in arena.

I don't care much about battlegrounds, but apparently they try-hard in groups which is up to them tbh.

It would be a very simple solution for Blizzard to "normalize" nicknames during battlegrounds:
5-year old programmer can implement automatic "Василий" -> "Vasiliy" or "Iðunn" -> "Idunn" conversions.

I don't have anything against Russians as a whole but in my personal experience I have a reasonable amount of unpleasant experiences playing against the Russians, usually in the form of lag.

I don't have anything against Russians as a whole but I just don't understand why with current "connected-realms" technology can't they merge Russian realms with other Russian realms (actually this stands for all other than English languages, why not mix Germans with Germans but just all together?)

That's the point I was trying to make it really isn't the Russian peoples fault because they have done nothing wrong but it is clear that they use a non English alphabet so why not implement a translation system or something?

I actually had to go and find a font that supported Cyrillic so I didn't get a screen that was a blank box and ?????????????? as the name. That is something you should not need to do to play a game that you subscribe to! it is shocking how little planning they put into this change.

The reason they can't merge Asian realms with non asian realms is the fact no one would be able to communicate, the same thing is showing here and the blatant lack of responsibility by Blizzard is absurd.

They never planned this very much tbh and because they never they have created so many more other problems. Sure they tried to help queue times but I personally would rather have the longer queue times and be able to hit people that I am standing on top of...

Its the lag that's unacceptable, it is game breaking in arena constantly getting LOS'd when you clearly have LOS loses games for one.

Error's with Cyrillic all over your screen is so annoying as well.

Here's what i don't get tho, i have around 30ms with my fibre connection on the EU client but i also play chars on the US client east and west coast with around 150-200ms, which are both further away than the main population area's in Russia and i have asked all my american mates if i am laggy and the answer is always no.

So why the hell are Russian players so laggy all the time? Something is not right either with the cross realm/linked tech or something more sinister?
