This isn't my opinion, this is the opinion of the devs, and their intention behind the design.

It's supposed to be. They want SS to basically be exclusively for situations where you *NEED* your dots on a target ticking at full power immediately. IE rapid target swapping in arena and high priority adds in pve. The idea is for it to be a major dps loss in the long term at the benefit of a massive dps gain in the short term.

The issue is it really isn't for any dot but agony. Because agony needs to stack, of course swapping one already at cap is much higher burst. But you're looking at 2 gcds for ua/corr, compared to the TWO GCDS FOR SS.

This is true, but unfortunately this design behind nearly everything useful costing shards is too focused on resource management that in PVE at least, it's likely we will opt out entirely from using SS and save all our shards for haunts. There's no real mechanic for us to balance out or play with that makes this interesting. I see resource management as one interesting idea, but the way it works for affliction at the moment is dull. This spec is too focused on PVP it feels. Blizzard definitely has some work to do to complete this spec.

Haven't done the math but I'd wager 4 gcds to apply ua/cor, a fresh agony 0 stack, and haunt will probably outweigh 2 gcds to get ua/corr and a max stack agony. In terms of short term burst.

Further illustrating why this is dumb. I'd be ok with it only if they made nightfall not restricted to 1 corruption again.

Aff felt decent on Brackenspore testing this morning - good boss/Fungal Flesh-Eaters damage, albeit damage to Fungal Flesh-Eaters suffers in comparison to Destruction if you aren't saving shards for each spawn wave due to ramp up time.

Was excellent on Iron Maidens. Brackenspore was great as well but I was on fire watch.

Basically it's mandatory if you want to play Battlegrounds. My pets keep dying in 5 seconds when playing a battleground in the PTR. I even run with unending resolve, soul link and the glyph that makes your pets stronger.

Hey guys, I would just like some quick confirmations regarding the Pandemic-effect rolled into all DoTs in WoD as there seems to be a lack of documentation around it. It's +30% for all classes incl. us yea? It's intended to be a nerf on our originally personal +50% effect? Also for Agony is it intended or a bug that it's not affected by Pandemic anymore? Well, it seems to add ~1sec, rather than ~7sec, but on live it behaves the same as any other DoT when extended.

Every class has 30% Pandemic and yes they intended to nerf our current Pandemic.

We are going to assume it's bugged that Agony doesn't benefit from Pandemic it has been reported several times as well as tweeted to Celestalon, but nothings changed or been replied too, but its clearly a bug.

Does anyone else feel that Affliction Locks demons should be replaced with Zombies, Skeletons and Ghosts ? They will fit the Affliction theme much better than the current demons.

    (Affliction) Warlocks are not necromancers.
