This is such a shame. He brightened many a friday night I spent watching comedy on the BBC back in the day.

Belushi, Kinison, Prior, Rat Pack, Farley, Ramis, Hartman, Hicks, Giraldo, Hedberg... There are more but I'm all depressed now.

I'm grew up in America, but my parents loved British comedy. We watched a lot of it when I was growing up so Black Adder, Monty Python and other shows were mainstays and I begged them to take me to Drop Dead Fred opening night even though I was 8.

Yeah, those are great for sure Now I'm depressed. going to go watch life of brian.

Really hate seeing such historic and prolific people pass away, used to love watching Bottom as a kid, Rik was a comedy genius and only in his 50's, that is such a shame.

Sad news indeed, remember watching The Young Ones , Bottom , The New Statesman and Drop Dead Fred growing up.
