    Question APU and GPU drivers

    Hello All,

I just finished building my newest gaming rig, and it is powered by an A10 7850k, and I also have an Gigabyte r9 290 OC, but although my gpu fans are ON there is no display as the monitor keeps saying "no input signal" I'm currently downloading the newest Catalyst drivers 14.4 APU. But my question is should I download the latest cataclysm GPU drivers as well? (I'm a little confuse, whether they are the same one or what.)

    Thanks!

"APU" is the graphics 'card' built into your CPU (A10-7850K), and the port on the motherboard. The R9-290 is your actual GPU. You can install both, probably, but you really ought to be using just the GPU

Thanks, I just don't understand why it keeps saying no input whenever I try to use the GPU thru HDMI, I'm downloading the GPU 14.4 as we speak hopefully it will work. Any ideas why the monitor keeps saying "no input signal"? (Hopefully the drivers will fix that)

Check to make sure all cables are secure and undamaged.

    Hit the source button.

Try on another machine/monitor if possible.

Try using the DVI connection first, just to get everything installed / updated, then try the HDMI. Some vid cards are a bit touchy with that.

I'm confused why would you downgrade from an I5 2500k to an a10? Unless it died or has serious problems you really should pair that I5 with the new 290.
