Serious internet lag someone please help

..Want... Over 150 miles away from the server... And a connection is that strong... WTF? Damnit, Murica' Stop using 100 year old copper lines.

Sitting right next to my Router I get 18.5D and 5U wirelessly which is the same as the wired speed. Right upstairs above the garage I get 9D 5U.

Tech came and went. We had the Modem hooked up to an amplifier which was amplifying the static on the line. He took that off, I lost 2mbps on download but he said it overall should help with the internet speeds. He also suggested homeplug and blamed the wifi for the issues. So looks like Im trying homeplug and hoping that will do the trick. Thanks to all for the help!

Its also possible that your parents computers have virus/malware on them which is maybe causing the hogging of bandwidth. If its possible, do a virus scan for them.
