I didn't see any thread in the HotS forum about hero gameplay and talent loadouts. I'm not even sure if this sort of thread is helpful in a MOBA type game (I know styles and talents change from random matchmaking vs organized teams) but for me personally it's been really helpful to look at simple guides explaining why some talents are worth taking over others.

Most sites (currently) are lacking in any sort of 'guides' for heroes so sometimes when I see a hero I want to play I get a little overwhelmed by some of the choices (HotS is the first MOBA I've ever played, I'm NOT even close to proficient).

So would an organization of player-made hero guides/loadouts be something helpful? (If there is a place with guides for all the heroes then feel free to ignore this/point me in the right direction) I just haven't seen anything to that effect.

There isn't much as far as guides so far. But I am planning to start a beginner guide for players to have an idea as to what talents to take...I cry a little every time i see a Sgt. Hammer take BFG or Li Li take water dragon. Between me and my team we have the third "skill" skin of all the heroes so I feel like we have a pretty good grasp on what talents are worth it. Another reason we don't see guides is its alpha. three or four weeks ago if someone had a guide on how to play Illidan then its worthless cause he got reworked. Is there a particular hero you are Interested in?

There's none that I'm really interested in, between Muradin, Uther, Li Li, Nova and Raynor I'm pretty happy and enjoying the game. I understand that this is still an alpha and heroes can (and do) change at the drop of a hat which is why guides are far and few between. But if everyone had, say, one hero they were passionate about and made a quick guide about how to play them I feel like we (MMO-C) could build up a casual guide database pretty easily. Like I could outline a quick guide for burst Raynor (though he's Easy so the guide might not be needed)

I know there are some hero rotations where I'll get a quest that's something like "Play a game as a specialist" and the only one available is Hammer. I try her out in a practice game and get frustrated, I look for a guide as to how to play her, find none and ultimately leave the quest alone. (I'm not asking for how to play Hammer, I have zero interest in her)

Yeah, like Sik said we feel pretty experienced with the game so far and I've got a couple heroes I could give solid pointers on (of them, Uther is one, if you have any questions) and can write up a guide for any suggestions. I have a pretty basic grasp on nearly every hero. Other than that, I would contribute to a guide thread if there was one. Seems like a pretty good idea to help people out.

That's basically the extent of information I would want to see in a guide, especially at this point in the game. We don't need the biggest and best guides ever written about the heroes, just a sort of: "This is a good talent, this is good talent if you have no healers, never pick this talent." and then a real basic "How to play" kind of thing as far basic cooldown management and positioning goes.
