    Xbox Controller Broken?

A couple weeks ago I decided I wanted to go on my Xbox which I hadn't been on for over a couple months, So I turn my Xbox on then go for turning a/both controllers on they don't work, so I open one and it has a creamy white liquid in it, I assumed it was my sister joking around with me at first using some soap, so I wiped it off and went to try the batteries in the one with the white liquid in my second controller (At this point I realised it could be a battery leak so I probably screwed the second too using the same batteries) I've now put them away and left them but I'd like to fix them, I assume it was a battery leak with the white creamy liquid? Could I get any advice? Cheers
Additional information: Microsoft are so brilliant that on their online service station the serial codes of your products don't fit into the space, Fantastic right? Not going to get this fixed!
