We usually have 1-2 melee in the pulls and they will always go up top with the rest of the group. They will probably be getting hit Foul Stream most of the time just due to the size of the mechanic and how finicky it is, but it should be fine for the most part.
Our progression kill 10H involved Rsham for Falling Ash cds and a Disc Priest for the bubbles (Iron Prison) on the bottom of the hill, and two tanks and a healer with lots of personals (MW monk?) up top, with Bear and Paladin tanks. Pally hit the healer with Purity for the end of every Toxic Mist, and just dropped all the bad things out of the way (Foul Stream, Tombs along the wall, Ashen Wall close together at the top of the hill, work your way down).
With this strat, our progression lasted a total of less than two raid nights.
Our previous strat was Disc down the bottom, MW and shaman up top with two tanks and a melee, we found we just had too much to deal with up top.
Probably won't notice this cuz of the replys but I'll give you my 2cents.
1Make sure all of your DPS are standing on the edges of the road to start, so they can work they way in.
2Be sure they all know the tombs do NOT Line of Sight
3Be sure the bottom tank will be able to survive the prison while getting ticked by a few slimes.
Other than that its a Raid Awareness fight. You will keep wiping till your DPS start paying better attention to their feet. And Malkorak is gonna be a NIGHTMARE. Start getting ready.

This. This, this, THIS. This is the only advice you need for this boss, and it makes the encounter one of the easiest in the raid. There's several older posts around here with a ton of detail on how to do this. The team up the hill needs to keep their fight area mostly clear and you need to decide how you want to handle foul stream up there. Everything else is pretty obvious.

Defensive stance takes 25% off the top for warriors, making this very easy. Atonement covers all of the healing required and supplies plenty of DA cushion. PW:S is just an extra security blanket. In practice, the only times you'll need to worry about the tank dying is if he takes huge damage from the slimes, and if he does he has cool-downs of his own or you can hit him with pain suppression. If you time the falling ash to hit as iron prison expires, you can hit some trouble with the priest, but again PS, PW:B or smart use of spirit shell can even get you through that.
Had the misfortune of running with this guild. The pugs outperformed the guild on Thok > Siege etc yet the guild kept bragging about their "Heroic Kills".
Imo it's not just about logs or strategy but also about attitude.
Has anyone done the this strat (8 top 2 lower) with some melee at the top. Do they get targeted by iron tombs still?
one of my first kills was a 1 down 9 top .
Solo tanking her as a prot pally is rather fun
