About <Future>
Started by raid leaders with 12/14H raid experience this tier and previous U.S. Top-100 leadership experience, <Future> started as a concept you have probably read a thousand times before: let's get a group together that can have fun and clear content at a respectable pace on a reasonable schedule. While the job is not yet complete, we have accomplished many of our goals, and in a few short months we have gone from a concept of a guild that had to PUG spots for 10 mans to a Thok-killing heroic 25 man guild. Not bad, especially when late-expansion blues are hitting many, guilds and individuals alike.
Our goals are both simple and common, so you may be wondering what exactly makes us different than every other guild that claims the same things. Simply put, we are honest and straightforward. Have you ever been in a guild where you feel like you are a part of the core, you get patted on the back by the leadership, and next thing you know you have been recruited over? That is not how we go about things.
We believe in a fair and honest process. If there are things you need to improve upon, they will be communicated to you and you will be afforded every opportunity to improve. Sometimes it will work out and sometimes it will not, but we firmly believe that everybody deserves to know where they stand and be given an opportunity to improve it.
Now you may be wondering if taking the long view with raiders impedes the speed of progress. Maybe it does, but speed of progression is not the only thing that matters in an MMO--the people you progress with are what make the game enjoyable. Take two guilds that are progressing at approximately the same pace, one of which kills Heroic Paragons two weeks sooner than the other. The guild that killed Paragons two weeks sooner is composed of a collection of "mercenary" raiders with little interest in one another, and after the kill there was nothing but sighs of relief.
The second guild, albeit slightly behind in progression, has an environment where people enjoy one another's company and look forward to raiding together--and after this guild kills Heroic Paragons, the nerd screams can be heard across neighborhoods. This is our guild. Which one do you want to be a part of?
Make no mistake, we are a heroic raid guild aiming to clear every raid tier when it is relevant. But if that is the only reason you are in a particular guild, or if you think a high quality social atmosphere and successful raiding are mutually exclusive, then you're doing it wrong.
