So I am returning to Gw2 after a really long time away from the game. The last time I played was actually the first up date to the world story. I know that now I have missed a huge amount of the content and I heard most of it cannot be revisited however I was wondering with the new Journal system they've been talking about, will it be possible to revisit the stuff that I missed. Also if that is not the case will I need to do a lot of catching up to understand what is happening?
Lastly has there been any info on a possible full expansion/squeal. I've heard rumors but have not been doing much research past a google search which is basically full of contracting information.
Season 1 of Living Story will not be available for replay in the new Journal immediately since most of it would need to be restructured to fit, but it is something they are looking at for the future. They talked about it a bit in this developer livestream from a couple weeks ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9P6Zmg16eEM
As far as getting caught up, here's some vids you can watch to quickly get caught up in the story.
You can also check out the new Atlas which has videos, sound clips, and screenshot links on the world map http://atlas.guildwars2.com/en/
You can also experience some of this content in Fractals - Molten Furnace, Aetherblade, Thaumanova Reactor, Captain Mai Trin Boss and Molten Boss fractals which were added last November. There's also a new dungeon path in Twilight Arbor, the Aetherpath Twilight Assault path.
As far as a full expac, not yet but the new Living Story is opening next week and it looks like we are at least getting new zones. They haven't given us much info yet, they are keeping a pretty tight lid on things so far.
Tyvm, must admit after the lack of a real end game feeling in PvE I stopped playing but damn with all that stuff added I think it is really worth getting a party together. And they gave all of this for free?! I might love wildstar end game, but this reaffirms my believe that this was the best MMO I played.
And it cost nothing a month lol shouldn't have waited this long to come backD
Well, that's the beauty of no sub model. One can dally in other games that might fit niche needs/desire (raiding, driving tanks, shooting aliens in the face) without hurting their pocket book too much. =)
